  • The NBA's all-time blocks leaders highlight the defensive prowess of players who have made a significant impact in protecting the rim. Hakeem Olajuwon, a legendary center, holds the top spot on the list with an impressive 3,830 career blocks. Dikembe Mutombo, known for his shot-blocking and finger-wagging celebrations, follows closely with 3,289 blocks. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, an all-time great, rounds out the top three with 3,189 blocks. These shot-blocking titans not only altered the course of games but also left an indelible mark on the league's defensive legacy. Their ability to protect the paint and deny opponents at the rim solidifies their places among the NBA's all-time blocks leaders.

Here are the main steps how I create a video:
First of all I come up with a topic. Then I collect the necessary information from statistical sites, forums, discussions in various communities (All sources can be found below). Then I start assembling the scene. When the scene is ready, with the help of a neural network, I create unique cantileveres and make a preview. After this I'm looking for music on youtube creative studio or fair use sites. Finally I do video editing with Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects.

I did the math for Wilt’s blocks, and since he averaged 8.8 blocks per game his last 112 games, and he played 1075 games, if we take into fact that he at LEAST blocked 8.8 shots his career, he would have 9,460 blocked shots. Incredible.

Your saying the players on the 8 teams in the 60s could compete with Shaq, Hakeem, Duncan, MJ, Kobe, Magic or Bird?
Patrick Ewing, Dennis Rodman or David Robinson could shut Wilt or Russell down.

@@JustLikeHeaven77 You only play one game at a time. In a 10 team NBA, the 120 best players in the world are there. In a 30 team NBA, they have to reach down to the 360th best player to fill the rosters up. Yes, centers like Bill Russell, Willis Reed, Nate Thurmond, Wes Unseld, Bob Lanier, Elvin Hayes, Walt Bellamy, and that guy named Kareem would be all-stars today. Funny you should mention Shaq and Ewing, the handshake during the "NBA's 50 Greatest" was hilarious, and highlighted how much bigger and stronger Wilt was than Shaq, and Ewing standing there looked like an absolute shrimp in comparison to Wilt.

Doesn't matter; Ewing and Shaq were more physical. Hakeem and Robinson were more skilled.
Yao Ming was the real beast. Had he not been from China and under Chinese Professional Sports rules, he would be the GOAT center. They ran that poor man into the money machine ground.
Wilt and Russell were great, but they are not in my top 5.

Actually, Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain should be at the very top of this list. Why? The NBA didn't start recording blocks as an official statistic until the 1973-74 season. Russell and Chamberlain by casual observations are the two most prolific shot blockers of all time.

@@pickzkickz Wilt blocked Nate Thurmond, who Kareem said was better than Hakeem. Also Willis Reed, Walt Bellamy, Wes Unseld, Bob Lanier, Elvin Hayes, Russell of course, and famously blocked Kareem's skyhook often, including twice in a row during a key playoff game. You can read about those 7-foot [except for Unseld] paperboys on the HOF page. Hakeem is #5 at best.

@@pickzkickz Wilt had insane block numbers. Just look them up. If the league recorded blocks when Wilt and Russell played, both of them would be at the top. Especially Wilt. Even if Wilt played now, what makes you think it would be different? Wilt was a very athletic player. Look up his track and field numbers, for someone who was 6'11" when he ENTERED high school, his numbers are wild. Name the centers who will give you a 440 yard dash in 49 seconds like Wilt did. Bill and Wilt were athletically gifted and had guard speed as big men. Nothing is stopping you from knowing all of this. Yes Hakeem is #1 in all-time blocks, but he is not the best shot-blocker. And if Wilt and Bill had their blocks recorded, they would be 1 and 2.

Anyone who really knows basketball knows Wilt and Bill are one and two with Wilt blocking probably twice as many as Bill. Also both were high jump champions in college and Bill was Olympic level. These two would dominate in any era and it wouldn't be close. Shaq wouldn't be able to bully anyone in Wilts era because of the more strict rules. Wilt in Shaqs era would be even more dominant probably averaging 40 points 25 rebounds 12 blocks per game minimum. Who the hell is going to stop him. I say nobody.
