Could you please recommend me any books or resources to learn art direction? I'm a graphic designer and currently I'm getting my masters in graphic design, I'm always looking to learn more

@@larakdesigns6227 I will make a video about this, since a lot of the stuff I saw online is wrong or misleading. You only get to be a true art director (I say true because most people fake it and direct really bad) when you have many years of experience and are able to first, see the big picture, and second, have the patience and tact to re-direct people. And this only happens with real work experience, not with shortcuts. I made a video about Art Director VS Sr. Designer, and being a director is not as easy as people think it is. But I note this to make a video explaining how to become one ; )

@@designthescenes awesome! I can't wait to see that. And yes I agree that lots of art directors are only pretending. I don't want to be like them, I just really want to understand this whole thing for real.

Do you design to tickle a common person aesthetic scenes or you design for the approval from you design community ?

    • @designthescenes

I dont have a design community nor I would care, you must work with a business purpose, and that's where you have to be creative. Don't design to get approval from a community, but from your client.

Please understand, I don't mean any disrespect or argument, but I just want to understand.
This is interesting, you as you saying that are not concert with design community reaction, (so that elimates competition factor) rather you just like to finish project for client (whatever brief they provide)
My question is are your client so sensible and trained to understand what a potential customer really want to see, or how an Ad or Art
work would be remembered after certain period of time.
Creativity, keeping and identity alive & being satisfied, Is So VERY CONFUSING..
