  • Nad Al Miqsar (formerly known as Al Rafisah) is an abandoned settlement West of Khor Fakkan in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (UAE). A traditional village at the head of the Wadi Shie, which is dammed by the Al Rafisah Dam, Nad Al Miqsar has been restored as a heritage village following the construction of the Sharjah-Khor Fakkan highway and the dam and associated rest area that were developed as part of the Dhs5.5 billion highway project.
The village includes 13 old houses dating back nearly a hundred years, and the people at that time used to be a haven from the flow of torrents, and according to archaeological studies, rocks engraved with drawings of camels and horses were found in the area of ”Washi”, estimated to be two thousand years old.
After being re-equipped with the latest facilities to receive visitors, the village will include 13 hotel units in the heritage style, a mosque, toilets, barbecue areas and outdoor sessions, in addition to the restoration of the upper fortress of the village, which was established about 300 years ago on the top of the mountain, and was part of the defense network of the ancient city of Khor Fakkan. It was equipped to be a distinct tourist attraction in the region, as the fortress provides a charming view of the valley, the village, the farms and the surrounding mountain heights.
