Where and how do I send to be reconditioned? I found it at a Goodwill store and the seals are in bad shape. I'm not willing to spend much on this thing that I've never seen before in my life, but I think it's super cool.
If you want your type D soda syphon head to be repaired or reconditioned contact us via our website at www.AcquaSpumante.co.uk or acquaspumante@gmail.com As at March, 2022, the cost of reconditioning a Type C or D head is GBP170 plus return postage to your country. You would need to send us the head for us to work on it. We can also supply some reconditioned parts on an "exchange" basis where you either remove the worn parts from your syphon head for us to recondition or, alternatively, we sell you reconditioned parts for you to fit (but we charge a returnable deposit until we receive your old parts in good condition; you have 60 days to return your old parts to us).
I have a few of these units that may need service. How much for a reconditioning service? or are parts to do this ourselves available by any chance? Shipping would be 1/2 way around the world.
The cost of reconditioning a Sparklets Type C or D head is currently (January, 2022) GBP170 plus return postage to wherever you are in the world. We have received, reconditioned and shipped back heads from as far as Australia, South Africa and New Zealand. We can supply parts for people to repair or recondition their own syphon heads but have to warn those attempting this that some pretty special tools are required to, for example, put on the top-cap on the head, which is crimped in place using a special die and crimping machine. The cost of the"exchange" reconditioned parts is based on the difficulty in our reconditioning them and - if the customer decides not to send back their own used parts in good condition - the cost of replacement of the parts lost to us (as most parts for these syphons went out of production decades ago). To put it simply, we charge a deposit on each part supplied which reflects how much it will cost us to replace that part if you do not send us yours by return. Some parts - such as those generally considered to be consumables - we supply as "outright sales". These are things such as the larger rubber seals and CO2 charger keys: replacement neck seals, dip-tubes (in either plastic or - now - borosilicate glass),the seal that goes into the CO2 capsule socked, original plastic and metal charger keys, etc. We also do some original/period accessories, such as drip trays and syphon stands. Have a look at our website and contact us that way with your enquiry.
I recently received my reconditioned siphon back from Robert. It works beautifully. True added value to an otherwise non functional work of art.
