In a world with much negativity, I can come to Mr. Immlers peaceful channel , relax and learn something. Thanks for your video, respect sent and all the very best.
Felix - Wonderful portable oil lamp project and demonstration. Looking forward to making one (or more) of these with the family. Thank you for your practical, interesting, and enjoyable content. All the Best! 🇺🇸 🏕 🕯
interesting! I used to make the same thing, but to hold the wick, I used a piece from a plastic bottle and drill a hole to insert the wick. The plastic floats above the water, so no wick holder is needed! I use water mainly for safety. When the lamp is accidentally dropped or turned over, the water will put out the flame instead of leaving a burning wick on the floor.
Wow. I made the same thing a few years ago and used the same size jar with the checker top. These make really nice oil candles. Glad to see I'm not alone with the jar projects.
James Bender lives about an hour and a half away. And strangely enough, I had found and subscribed to your channel some months before his. Keep up the good work, Felix.
You're channel and Waypoint are my top favorites. You teach so much on the many uses of the Swiss Army Knife and James shows a lot on how to impervious using what others will be seen as trash
Thanks so much for the cool video and for the shout out, my friend! I really enjoyed the video and and the way you put your spin on it by turning it into an oil lamp! I wish you all the best from Ohio, USA
That’s awesome that you showed the entire journey. Gathering the nuts, finding the best known way to crack them, then making the press to press them into oil, then making a lantern to burn the oil. Superb content. Well done.
That's a very useful video. We never know when our electric will go out, so this video will be very useful. Thank's Felix for sharing your knowledge. Greatly appreciated!
Excellent, love this video! Water in the bottom of the jar I believe will keep the glass from overheating and possibly cracking if the flame contacts the side. I would use water even if I had a lot of oil.
Hi Felix! I have enjoyed this series, from the nut extractor and oil press to this lamp, all the way through. James Bender, of WayPoint, is a big favorite of mine. Like yourself, he is a very likeable fellow and very skilled.
Awesome! I would have never thought of using the water to adjust the oil level! I appreciate how you promote other bushcraft channels…not enough of that is done.
Excelent, as usual. Thank you Felix! P.S. I would go with a little disk of tinfoil stuffed inside the lid. This way you have a mirror also for a more powerful light
This lantern is an old prison trick, so I've been told! Using a small pill bottle, fill with baby oil, twist a wick from toilet paper, drill a small hole in the lid and light. This method is much better though, and definitely more oil friendly. I'll try this out next time, thanks for a reminder Felix, love the channel 👍
I was looking to buy straps today, so I can attach a jacket outside my backpack, but then I thought what for? I’ll make those ones Felix did with some rope and a piece of wood! Love the channel, love the way you took an idea today and made it something special. Oh and I love waypoint survival. Not thrilled with all his ideas, but the guy just seems like a real decent guy, and it shows in his videos.
Great video Felix - Thank you! I have been backpacking with a small battery powered lantern but I don’t enjoy the light from the LEDs. I am doing this instead moving forward!
Felix, great idea! I like this one better than a similar one I’ve seen. Great job as always, I hope you enjoy your holidays. Christ be with you my friend, cheers.
In a world with much negativity, I can come to Mr. Immlers peaceful channel , relax and learn something. Thanks for your video, respect sent and all the very best.
Thank you very much for this wonderful compliment!
You hit the nail on the head. That's why I watch him. Relax!
He IS Swiss so ofc he’s a neutral haven from conflict;)
Amen to that!
I feel the same way. With his warm smile and gift for teaching, it's a real treat to watch his videos...if I could only find my Swiss army knife
Thanks, Felix - I wouldn't have thought of adding water for level adjustment, but it makes sense!
Thanks a lot Randy for your feedback!
Whats nice is when felix shows the tip and tricks he already pre tested it.
Thanks for your positive feedback!
Awesome video!
Thank you very much!!
The wick and lid innovations as well as the detailed explanations make the video a bushcraft classic 🇧🇷
Wowww, thank you very much!

I have a couple of those Hurricane Lamps, for power cuts.
LED Lamps give a lot of light, but no heat, hence the Hurricane Lamps. 😊
