    Wow I mean the insane thing that stands out about that rookie season, especially from the future here in 2020 and ya gotta wonder what if? What if Soroka didn't have that freak injury a month or so before the playoffs started, what if we had him for the NLCS? But the crazy thing about this video and that 2019 season, is that the people he is making look like fools repeatedly are the best hitters in the MLB for the past 2 years. Tatis Jr., Machado, Soto, Manny Margot, Cavan Biggio, obviously Bryce Harper (stfd), I mean Yadi, etc. Some of the absolute best in the league and young, Canadian, Mikey is knockin' em down one by one. God I hope he comes back better than ever in 21 and is a part of our World Series contending team that year. Callin' it now.

    what the hell is that wizardry. i’m guessing it’s a sinker, maybe took something off since it’s only 90 miles per hour, but my god. stupid movement. completely spun myers into a pretzel. he has three filthy pitches. the change can still be inconsistent at times but it damn near looks like a screwball a few times in here, especially the early one in here to garcia that just exploded off the plate with sink, or the one near the end to Wong in the NLDS... or the BACKFOOT CHANGEUP to molina (!!) just ridiculous... still don’t believe Snit’s moronic arse only started him once but anyway... when he’s got everything going... good luck. he really throws two breaking balls too, as he gets righties with a lot of a more pure slider at 86-87 with the glove side cut, but lefties seem to get more of a 81-83 power curveball with biiig, 12-6 downward movement. add in that 92-95 sinker, 95-98 in his bag with the four seamer he can elevate extremely effectively as an out pitch (not that he needs to with those off-speed pitches, but...) and i mean... just a special, special young pitcher that could be one of the greats in a decade or so.

    • @bwstanley26
      @bwstanley26 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      laugh hysterically at the people who try to say he isn’t a true number one because he doesn’t strike enough people out. Verlander’s rookie year, when he was two years older than Mike, he averaged 6 K/9. it’s not like his stuff ticked up after that (though, to be fair, he wasnt throwing his slider yet and that’s become possibly his best pitch, certainly his best secondary). Mike averaged nearly 8. and that’s with throwing a ton of sinkers without reaching back max effort to try and get early count weak contact. that could keep him from ever putting up *that* gaudy of strikeout numbers, but i 100% believe he could average 10.5, maybe 11 K/9 in a couple years if he wanted to. just an absolute stud with unbelievable feel, command, and mound presence.
      and the stuff is damn good too. and that’s without even considering his fastball could very easily sit mid-90’s more regularly as he continued to get stronger and distances himself from the shoulder issues.
