: This episode of The Unit is titled, ‘The First Farewell’. As the male performers join ‘Crying Fist’, things get more heated and shocking truth are revealed with expose and counterattack. After that, the official announcement of the vote results commences. The moment of happiness by the announcement of the top nine performers only lasts for so long until the leaders of each group have to go back to their practice room to inform the ones who must go home. Everyone lumps the first farewell as they burst out into tears.

This elimination process is by far the least cruel that I’ve seen amongst the survival shows ... they let the leaders of the group read off the names, in a way making it more intimate 💘 though not the least heart wrenching 😭
also because they can take all the time they want to say goodbye, and hug and talk, it’s a lot more heartfelt than other survival shows. i really appreciate that in this show.
I agree. At least they were able to spend a bit of time together for the last time. Saying goodbye is the hardest thing ever when come to separation
It seems personal but they only do it ofr the drama and the tears. They know is gonna be worse on the leaders because they feel responsible for the eliminations, thinking that they made that person go home when is really the public who gets people outta there. It is not caring, it is not wholesome, it wasn't designed based on their feelings. It is one of the cruelest eliminations for me, worse than saying it out loud to every single contestant.
I appreciate that it's a lot more intimate and less embarrassing this way but MAN IS THAT A LOT OF BURDEN ON THOSE LEADERS SHOULDERS that's too painful

The elimination is not cruel like Produce 101 and Mixnine they will announce your rank infront of everyone. At least the Unit let the leaders know how many members eliminated from their group.

Soya was my bias and the way how she got eliminated made me cry and the part when she went to the next card it had her name and her rank and that she eliminated that made me cry

I don't watch the show and i think i wouldn't be able to watch it. I would be crying my eyes out. I wished all of them could debut and being successful but sadly that's not how it works the show. It's just sad, they all have worked so hard.
This elimination way ain't cruel as other survival shows such as Mixnine, I like this better

This is heartbreaking. They became like family and envisioned performing together and then they're ripped away from each other.

I think one of the harshest elimination was in sixteen even when they didn't get eliminated it was sad to see the major to minor bits

Although you’re not going to be with us, I thank you for being with me this whole time. I hope your dreams make it in the future if not now, I know that you would exceed. You’re one the the strongest person I know, you will.”*
