    Craig Counsell, while I don’t think the brewers collapse was his fault, I think had his worst season in terms of decision making this season. Whether that is having a short leash on his starters or refusing to start Keston Hiura against righties. I still think CC is a great manager but he didn’t have a lot to play with this year.

    • @FootballClubDavid_WI_USA
      @FootballClubDavid_WI_USA 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Counsell should have been removed from managerial duties after the 2019 season and absolutely after the Brewers got eliminated in the divisional series last year. He really is holding the team back, they succeed in spite of his decisions. I can't believe Marc contemplated having him in the S tier let alone in the A tier.

Not only that, but they have an average roster age younger than the average AAA team, with a total of 17 rookies making their major league debut. Also only like 2 players above the age of 30. Boone is a B based on how you ranked other managers after him. Guy took a 4th place predicted Yankees team and won the division easily. Averages 97-98 wins a year in the toughest market. Team has won a post season series* every year except in 2021. Bullpen fell apart 2nd half this year and he pieced it together.

It sucks. But I think this jays team is something special l. I think they're going to have a fire under their skin and it will motivate them for next season making the right moves and playing the game the right way. I'm really excited for them! Honestly

    If you're talking only this year, I have to agree with you about David Ross. However I think when he had his manager debut in 2020 after Joe Maddon got fired, I thought he did a great job managing that team. I feel like if Maddon was still managing that year, they wouldn't have won the division. And I know it was the covid year, but he knew what kind of team he had, and used it to the best of his abilities. I think the differences with this new team he has is that it's a new team. He doesn't fully know how to properly steer the ship because it's brand new. But the second half of the season shows me that he's learning more about his team and how to steer it in the right direction.

  • @Galantski
    @Galantski ปีที่แล้ว

    Marc, what were you thinking by rating Buck a mere "B"? You talk about be solid but making mistakes, but that can also typify this selection. Granted, you were premature, coming out with your rankings before the Manager of the Year selection. By now you know he won the NL award this season. That makes four times he's been picked for that honor, including prior selections with the Yankees, Rangers, Orioles, and now Mets. He didn't do that by luck, and you should show a little more respect.

    While I do believe Dave Roberts has gotten better over the years, I still can't see him as a good manager. The team is so stocked that they really don't need much to be unstoppable (and that's been a growing thing since Mattingly), yet that doesn't work the same way for playoff baseball. Roberts has made it further than Mattingly, but as I said, team's only been getting more and more stocked. Of those 3 WS trips, 2018 was horrible, and only got there because Brewers were even worse at the last NLCS game. 2020, a very shortened season, and that last game was more on Kevin Cash than Roberts, pretty much like the game before that, only backwards

    You're being kind placing Shelton in the D tier. He is clearly F class. Horrible lineups, horrible BP decisions, left that poor bastard LH relief pitcher (name forgotten) out for over 50 pitches to just get shelled, sat out Ke Bryan Hayes at an early season weekend home game and was called out by the local media for not thinking that maybe just maybe the local fan base might want to see him play. The list goes on......

    I feel like David Ross was just royaly screwed when it came to the 2nd half. I mean he was able to get the 2020 team to the Wild Card in his first year, and even for it being 2020, that was good for the Cubs. He's also just really good for the club house
