- HOLY SMOKES… I have an eyeshadow palette addiction!! Haha!! Today we’re going to attempt to declutter my high-end eyeshadow palettes! Out of all of the categories in makeup, eyeshadow palettes have a special place in my heart. It’s SO HARD to part with classic palettes because of the memories attached!! Regardless… I tried… lol. Can I just put it out there that it's OK to have a large makeup inventory? It's OK to love it. It's a hobby for many of us and no one gives seamstresses a hard time for a room full of fabric or woodworkers for a barnfull of wood. Yes, it can expire. But if it brings you joy, then you do you. I'm glad you ate keeping what you want. Please don't apologize! I'll be waiting for part 2!

Honestly, I can 100% relate, it's so hard for me to throw away old palettes...I did it recently but it took a lot of willpower, they're just so pretty to look at! Like the Huda Beauty Neon Pink palette...looking at those colors brings me joy 😅 I have no issues getting rid of clothes or shoes I don't wear anymore, but palettes? Mission impossible
I love how iconic the peach palette is. I have so many memories with that palette as well and only JUST tossed it because so many colours I hit pan on and many colours started to hardpan.

I have over 150 palettes and I have them on a shelf, kind of like a book shelf. It so much easier to see what you have and you can organize it by brand. Great video ❤
Completely agree on the NARS Climax. Top 10 palette. Also shows that NARS can do different things, just wish they would commit to it! Bring palettes that make us sing like that one❤

I wore Sigma’s Cor de Rosa today and I must pat myself on the back that the eye look turned out beautiful! Sweet Peach is still my fav #1 palette, and I have a back up of it.
I gave away my Sweet Peach, and it is the only regret I have about giving makeup away.
I think you can still get it. I bought a backup because I’m suspicious they are about to discontinue it.

A major beauty retailer in Australia never does actual sales, however on boxing day releases limited edition products that they had leftover stock from during the year at a discount. I finally managed to pick up the Nars Climax palette at half price!!! I am so excited to use it for autumn in a few months!!!!

Hi Allie, love your videos! Like others have said, there's nothing wrong with being a collector. Some of these palettes are works of art! I'm sure you have your own plans for displaying the Natasha Denona and Pat McGrath and other beautiful palettes, but one possibility I'd love to see would be a wall display - maybe with the clear shelves people use to display their vinyl record collections.

If i get to the point of not even remember i had a palete in my colection, makes me realize i don’t need it. As well if the colour story is repeated in several paletes doesn’t make sense keeping, you just pick the best formula.
Pallets that are beautiful but not often used would look fun opened up into shadow boxes for wall decor.
I have not been on makeup youtube for a while now. the overflow of products is not exciting for me it’s overwhelming. so seeing subculture and the tarte pro palette made me so excited!!
i would rather watch people use those older palettes than new ones i have never heard of. it is more relatable and fun to see you use the archived makeup since that’s items I have actually used verus i will never purchase a natasha denona palette. they are all pretty! it is just fun to see people use products i am familiar with
I’m going to be a chorus of one and say that decluttering gives a sense space and freedom so you might try
1) a max number by any one designer
2) organize by color stories so you can SEE the repetitions
3) as a game try ONLY one designer for a week or two and see which of the palettes you love most ie N Denona; Pat McGrath.
Remember your goal is to declutter and do more with less.
Baby will be a great motivator ❤️💜❤️

I love your decluttering videos! They're inspiring me to go through my own makeup collection. What do you do with the ones you get rid of? Do you throw them out? I don't always know what to do with things I've tried once but didn't like. I feel like I can't give them to a friend because that's not sanitary, but I feel bad throwing out full, mostly unused products.
Allie, would it help you to organize your palettes by brand in an open shelving unit instead of just shoving them in a drawer?
It seems there were SOOOO many palettes you just don’t remember having!
Also, maybe make it a goal to use a palette from different brands each day :)

I imagine if I ever did an eyeshadow palette declutter video it’d be pretty much just show and tell too lol. I’m not parting with any ND, TooFaced, ABH, or Pat McGrath palettes but I’d add I’m also keeping all of my Violet Voss, 90% of my Colourpop, all of my CT as well. I’m also pretty attached to my Alter Ego palettes for travel too. I am also a mini palette freak so I have more than my share of those too. 🤷🏻♀️What can I say? They are well loved and totally appreciated so as long as I have space for them, they’re staying! ☺️I have a hard time letting go of high end and high quality palettes. I have quite a few drugstore favorites as well. Oh yeah, I’ll also be keeping all of my Patrick Ta palettes too. They’re some of my most used.
Also I would love to see the tour of the beauty room! 👍🏻 I love watching what other makeup lovers keep and what they don’t. Idk why it’s so fascinating to me but it is! 😊

Genuine question, no shade. I have about 6 palettes and personally, it seems like I have the majority of the colors I need and I can blend my way to most looks I want to try. I don't get the appeal of collecting lots of palettes with similar color stories. Is it formula? Packaging? Convenience? Just the pleasure of collecting fun, beautiful things?

I just cleaned out my makeup drawer yesterday and cannot give up the Rose Metals pallet! It’s so pretty even though I don’t wear it that much! I use that shade Ashes a lot in the crease for a one and done look. Just a gorgeous pallet.

I think it would be so much fun to see what you would repurchase if the HORRIBLE tragedy of losing all your makeup happened. What ONE item from each category would restart your collection 😂😂😂
There’s no such thing as expired powder cosmetics. It’s an artificial construct to get you to throw out your makeup and buy more. If a product is still performing well and hasn’t developed a change in texture or odor, there’s no reason to throw it out.
I think the same way. marketing ploy to get us to spend more $$$

Sometimes they dry out but not expire.
False the component can be e posted to stuff and develop weird stuff and start small bad, it might not be the 12 month wrote non the product but company HAVE to put it there to protect themself just think about water u wouldn’t think it expire but the plastic of the bottle will create micro plastic
I have the Tati Beauty palette and I'm starting to hit pan on some shades 😱 but I can't get rid of it, it's too good. The Nouveau is also one of my favorites. I love to see declutters like this (or "show and tell") because I feel like it shows us what products realllly stand the test of time!
Dude im purposely not using my Tati Beauty palette as much😭😭😭same thing with my blendiful. I wanted to buy another one of each but that’s when she said they were going to close😭
The tarte rainforest palette also had a choke hold on me. I loved it and I used it until I hit pan 😂

I got the NARS Climax palette in March 2022, and it's not going anywhere. It's worth it just for the green shade 😍
I recently replaced my Naked 3, the previous one had huge pans and was probably expired. Somehow it became an essential palette for me, and I use the mini version almost every day for a quick work-appropriate look 😊

The tartlette pro palette definitely was a go to palette for me and makes me think of OG makeup reviews, the swatches, the hype. Side note the Nars palette that she raves about is on nordstrom rack last time I checked!
When you decluttered the Sultry palette I swear I heard my heart shatter 😂❤ Always wanted it but when I got around to buying it they didn't sell it anymore! 💔😅
