Youll like the EZ Mil song and maybe one other but you'll see the album gets repetitive with Chris Reeves, Jenner, Gen Z, and Diddy disses. The project as a whole/story is probably the best since Encore and has relisten value as an album but as individual songs only Fuel and the EZ Mil song have replay value in playlists.

My guy, JID literally had a septendecuple entendre (17 meanings):
"In the pocket, the rocket like Kelly mom".
      1. Literal: Holding a rocket (weapon) in a pocket. Something a lot of gang members do for quick retrieval
      2. Football reference: "In the pocket" relates to a quarterback's protective area, with "rocket" as a powerful throw (JID played college football and used these football references all the time throughout his discography)
      3. Refers to former NFL player Jim Kelly's mom. Jim Kelly was a quarter back. The "pocket" refers to the area where a quarterback stands behind the offensive line to pass the ball. Jim Kelly's mom was well known for being protective and supportive of her kids and "kept them close to her pocket", further playing on the gun/unseen support theme.
      3. Kellen Mond is a quarterback for Texas A&M college known for his ability to navigate the pocket well, and who has publicly praised JID, is from the sams city, and listens to his music regularly.
      4. The Houston rocket's mascot is Clutch the Rocket, and his mom's name is Kelly. Clutch the Rocket is known for pulling out props from his pockets in his skits.
      5. Rap skill: Having powerful lyrics ("rocket") ready at all times. JID is also well known and for already having diss tracks for nearly every major rapper in the industry, as well a few underground rappers, already written and pre-prepared as a way to stay prepared/ready at all times for beef. This has been noted by several members of Dreamville, J Cole, and even JID himself, further playing on the gun/staying ready without being seen theme.
      6. Drug reference: "Rocket" is common slang for drugs, kept hidden.
      7. Gun Reference: Keeping a "rocket in your pocket" is also a common street saying for being strapped at all times with a gun.
      8. "Kelly mom" is a homophone for "Kill Imam". Many imams in the Muslim community were notably targeted and killed by individuals with seemingly innocuous guns that were hidden and pulled out at the last minute for assassination. Further plays on the gun/staying ready theme.
      9. Saddam Hussein's regime in Iraq was characterized by its authoritarian rule and repression of the Imam Shiite groups and other religious leaders ("Imam" refers to a religious leader in Islam, particularly in Shiite contexts.) who notably maintained that power via a strong arsenal rockets they could willingly deploy at any time. Further plays on the rocket/staying strapped theme.
      10. Many Imams leaders throughout the years to this day have been killed by individuals with innocuous guns readily at the hip. The killers often had the guns hidden at their hip near their pockets. Further plays on the pocket/hip/gun theme.
      11. "pocket Rocket" is a slang term for penis in America, and Pocket Rocket is also a slang term that slightly older women use to describe themselves as small but jam packed with energy and dynamo. Further plays on the "small but mighty" theme that JID is often described as by other rappers (JID was well known for sleeping around with lots of women in his mid twenties, particularly women who were a bit older than him and was routinely noted as "being willing to whip it out" at any moment by his friends, further playing on the pocket rocket theme).
      12. Pocket rocket is also a common sports saying, particularly in football, used to describe a small person who is extremely athletic or one of the smallest people in the field/court/ring who makes a large/massive impact in the game despite their size. JID is often described as being small but make a huge impact with his verses and making other rappers scared despite his small stature. His career and discography have been described by many music and hip hop journalists as being similar to a "pocket rocket", in that he has made a large impact culturally in a small amount of time despite his smaller discography.
      13. Likewise, throughout JID's college football career he was described as a "pocket rocket" by college scouts, coaches, and fellow teammates, making a massive impact in the game with his notable athleticism and speed/power (He's well known music for having his music littered with football references such as this).
      14. A pocket rocket is also a small gun.
      15. A pocket rocket is also a small motorcycle that is known for providing lots of power despite its small size, further playing on the small but powerful stature.
      16. Pocket rocket is a poker term for having two aces in your hand - it's the best starting hand you can have, further playing on his career and the small but powerful theme.
      17. JID was/is a drummer before being a rapper, and often referred to as a "pocket drummer" (someone who prioritizes groove and feel over flashiness in their playing) and strongly preferred to use "Rocket Toms" now type.

    • @ilikesing1474
      @ilikesing1474 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Right? This younger generation think that just bc they believe one rapper sounds better “sonically” TO THEM, they automatically just say that rapper “out rapped” somebody 🤦‍♂️ JID has a buttery smooth flow that is great, but RAP wise, he wasn’t saying what Eminem was saying. Eminem was saying WAY harder shit plus he flow switches 4 different times, 2 of those flows being NASTY and new like I’ve never heard anyone come up with a flow like it. Em is an innovator and some people like Scru, won’t appreciate and love the flow until 20 years later. It’s THAT far ahead of everyone’s time.

    • @daEINSTEINkid1

    • @ilikesing1474
      @ilikesing1474 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

Bro Eminem’s choppy flow is intentional. He seems to prefer it. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean it’s not supposed to sound like that or “he is fighting the beat”. I’ve even heard Wayne use it in some of his verses before. It’s a pocket that some people actually like.

Choppy flow is intentional to pronounce and highlight certain parts of words that would fit into a rhyme-scheme. It's an unconventional style of rhyming that some will like, others will not. But no-one can say it isn't clever the way he's able to find these pockets and flow with it. Everyone is an armchair critic, it's hilarious 😂
