- A mysterious red glow captured by a pilot flying over the Pacific Ocean has sent internet sleuths into a spin.
The phenomenon was later revealed to be arrays of red LED lights being used by fishing trawlers to attract a specific type of fish.

This is how I see it. They do but don't post. A few post it but it doesn't go anywhere. The handful that do get solved rather quickly. Besides that, the other pilots already know. It's only weird and noticeable when it's extreme.

Because pilots would get their licence taken away from them, the company cant risk mental illness on such a job, so the pilots keep quiet even though they see it. This is actually what happens during thunderstorms above clouds, it's called a transient luminous event, look into it. There's videos on youtube. This red glow specifically is called red sprites. This phenomenon went under the radar for so long, nobody was sure it existed, but pilots KNEW, but they couldn't say it for legal reasons.

Red Sprites were only recently discovered and before that nobody knew about it and they would've thought you were one of those mentally ill or schizophrenic pilots talking 'bout aliens and alien ships. In short, all pilots knew about these red sprites before they were even discovered, but they didn't talk about it to anyone becaus they didn't want to risk losing their job because their employer thought they were schizophrenic.

Nobody called him mentally ill, but the company WOULD consider him mentally ill, and they would fire him, like i said, the company doesn't want potentially mentally ill pilots, so even though the pilots knew about this weather phenomenon that wasn't even observed at that time, they always dismissed it because they didn't want to risk their job.
Every time a story involves something potentially supernatural or alien, the media always puts a "fun" twist on it to discourage serious discussion. Honestly I'd like to see them report the "important" news this way too.

@@wth......53 I'd never seen it prior to this video either. but once it was explained it made perfect sense. and since I am a pilot and an engineer that builds things for NASA, I'm used to looking at this kind of stuff from multiple perspectives. Also have some experience with reconnaissance and such in the military, looking at intel images and such. Rare unexplained phenomena is also a passing interest of mine. But this one has so much evidence for it once you know what it is and what to look for.

This is literally a chinese fishing fleet, we've seen this a couple of times in Southeast Asia, South Pacific Ocean, and South Atlantic Ocean. They stay there to fish for several weeks and even a year until the area is almost completely out of fish and the reefs are destroyed. These guys have no respect for nature at all and I wish the world and the UN is made more aware of this before it's too late to prevent its consequences.
I have also seen someone call this a emergency flare for man overboard used on SLBMs to mark their location considering we are in another cold war

I am wondering if that pilot had his very first flight over the ocean, or he has never looked down while flying over the ocean? How come that this “very well known” fishing technique never was videotaped before?!! If this Red Lights fishing happens left and right… why these pilots don’t report it often? Lol. Man, I'm a pretty down to earth person. I use to laugh at the idea of some ominous unidentifiable objects existing in this world. That's until one night I see something hovering over the woods that's beyond any reasonable explanation. I find it extremely odd that, if this is fishing boats, that it hasn't caught the eye of the public more often in the past. It should also be able to be recreated. Maybe it was fishing boats. However, I'm certain we don't have the proper explanation to all the weird stuff that's been caught lately. It certainly adds more credit to stories in the past.

Many factors at play. Currently the moon is just a sliver. Less light from it. Cloud cover, pollution and migration of the fish. Hence all of the fleet is very close to each other.

I live by a town where they catch chokka and they use bright white lights to attract them. Some nights the whole sky would be lit up like a big city even though we’re a town of just a few thousand people, and when you look out into the ocean where the boats are it looks like a white sun rising.

Flew over these lights several times off of northern Japan and Kamchatka Russia. Thin cloud cover looks eerie but clear nights reveal that they are boats with bright lights like the white and green fishing and squid boats. For some reason the red didn’t last long. I only see green and white these days.

Nope, these are clouds which have water vapor that reflects light between each other making it seem larger than it really is, I saw similar thing over indian ocean in an aircraft but it was white cause they use white lights

The aircraft is 31,000 feet up - almost 6 miles away. That red glow looks awfully large from that distance to be emitted from lights around a fishing boat.
It would take many boats sitting close by to cause that. Not just one.

I've seen this days and months on end last year in the same area. The red was lighter. Happened during the early mornings, night, and dusk.
