  • Fake news is not a new thing. It has been around for a long time but social media, bots and highly partisan environments are spreading fake news easier.

    Synopsis: Our world is saturated with bullshit. Learn to detect and defuse it.
    The course will be offered as a 1-credit seminar this spring through the Information School at the University of Washington. We aim to expand it to a 3 or 4 credit course for 2017-2018. For those who cannot attend in person, we aim to videotape the lectures this spring and make video clips freely available on the web.

    The Weekly World News was in many ways a precursor to The Onion. It was just flat-out hilarious, but it didn't label itself as satire.

    Gotta call bullshit on the “trust thermometer” it only shows up til 2012 which misses out on critical information which could potentially prove or disprove your claims.
