I really want to give hats off to TirTir. Them taking the time to go back, make the shades needed for a real range & doing it so fast was an innovation & game change that no one expected but changed the expectations bar. I'm glad I'm hearing a lot more "I'm sure they'll have darker shades soon, let's all keep an eye & keep them accountable" type talk vs "well they're an Asian company, they don't offer dark shades" people would say for decades.
Robert Welsh introduced me to the Parnell Glacial Biome Water No-Sebum Cushion and it's my #1 primer this winter. So glad to see Parnell's cushion foundations.

Ooooh. I am intrigued. Chanel had a "cushion" foundation years ago that I was only able to get in Europe. I had to give up because it was discontinued/too difficult to find. But the coverage was a beautiful veil, similar to this one. Just enough to add luminosity and blur imperfections. Thank you Alexis and Christina for continuing to educate us and provide insight into the beauty industry and products.
I've always wanted to take out the sponge and squeeze it like that but haven't eantex to waste my product, so thank you, that was so satisfying to watch!

This is the Korean cushions I’ve been leaning towards the past few years. Usually you’d only find it with mesh cushion foundations. They said they put on one while bottle of their serum in this cushion
On Yesstyle, they actually do have deeper colours. The deepist is 43N, Deep Toffee Nut. Probably still not a great range of deeper colours, but I'm sure they'll release more.
I love cushion foundations. The coverage is just seamless and beautiful.

I'm Indian so a brown neutral, shade 34n works perfectly for me. I got it from Robert Welsh introducing it and i don't think ive used any foundation as often as I use this.

I was looking to buy the Parnell cushion a couple weeks back from oliveyoung but they didn’t carry a lot of the light shades and it was hard to choose. Also, I agree with the tirtir foundation is full coverage so after applying it you need to put more make up on to bring back the natural shade and color of you face.
Parnell makes a good foundation. It looks great on you. Please try Rolling the sponge applicator, it works even better than patting. Robert Welsh has a video about it. Thanks for the review

I want the cushion foundation brands to offer a variety sample to purchase.
I chose the wrong shade from Tirtir the first time and I felt pretty guilty sending it back for a return and to order again, more so than a bottle of foundation. It's so much more packaging just to potentially be wasted if SOMEONE 🙋♀️ can NEVER correctly guess their shade match from new companies online.
Make like a grouping of shades in the generic categories (fair, light, medium, dark, deep), and have an estimated single application amount for each shade, so someone could wear it for a day and see how it oxidizes and wears. They could promote that as trying to be less wasteful in materials, time and money. And could deny returns of opened full products with an option like that (minus defective product) 👀

I used cushion foundation for quite a while then they seemed to disappear. Really hope all the drug store brands bring them back again
That's still a lot of shades for a Korean brand since usually it's only 3 shades.
I used to ❤ the Wet and Wild cushion skin tint! Until they got rid of it…

I'm petrified to use powdered compact foundation. I'm 55, live in Texas and have EXTREMELY dry skin. ❤

If you’ve got dry skin this would be a great option for you! Like @elsahass7116 said, the foundation is a liquid in a sponge. It’s the convenience of a powder compact but the foundation is super light and usually moisturizing.
I’m sorry to say, but that 27N shade you put on was still light. At best it looks like it could be your winter shade without the tan, but it’s still way too light. I have to say TirTir seems to have them beat as far as shades go. They have proven themselves to be the FENTY Beauty of the K-Beauty world. Period.
It's a shame the forget about us Melanated queen's. Smh! Are we not in 2025 🙄
