Most of the viewership totally misunderstood John Walker's arc.
He perfectly expresses someone who was an excellent soldier following orders but not a person of personal self integrity. He tried too hard and people couldnt respect him as a result. He depended too much on external acknowledgement. Trying to be someone he wasnt ate him alive, crushed him under anothers legacy. His leaders wanted him to be captain america but at the same time they wanted an obedient cap. It was a set of entirely contradictory expectations. Impossible to achieve. Depending on all this external bull to give him his self worth.
Atleast as USAgent he can do good his own way under his own identity without external expectations pulling him in different directions. In a very unstable antihero way, he can establish his own self worth now.
He's got a good dad.
Once again Wyatt Russell aka John Walker has given us a stunning performance.

Marvel seems to have realized that one of the things that used to sink comic book movies and series was lackluster villains. So now they make sure their villains are as compelling as their heroes.

Isaiah mentioning the 332 Red Tails, I met a member of the Tuskegee Airmen here in Washington State named Thomas Gray who’s a retired Boeing engineer and he was such a humbled man. He was proud of me going to college. I was starstruck I met a hero of mine
We had a retired Tuskegee Airman here in the ROK as well. He was my car insurance agent. He passed a while back. He was known and respected throughout the Pen. His name was Jim Price.
I genuinely feel bad for John. He's very much a victim of the expectations forced upon him. He was trained to be a good soldier, he was trained to be Captain America.
The guy is essentially the government's scapegoat and now had everything taken from him. He lost his rights, his honor, his best friend. And now he's losing his bloody mind!!
What makes me more sad is how some people don't even look into that before hating on him.

I love the heart to heart between Sam and Bucky. Sam was able to help Bucky more in one conversation, than that therapist did in all the sessions she had with him.

They really skipped over all of John Walker's traumatic recollections? Like I do not support or condone what he did but that was a powerful series of shots especially with the screen around being muddled. The full weight of what just happened is hitting him, the death of his best friend and him losing control and killing that guy. He's finally coming out the serum induced daze and rage that I believe he was in for almost the whole last part of episode 4.

Wyatt Russel deserves so much more credit than he has in this show. He gives a chilling performance. You know a good actor when you grow to hate the character with a passion. To think that he gets death threats for such an amazing performance is ridiculous.
Avengers/super soldiers fixing a boat was the montage I didn’t know I needed. Same with the shield catch and training montage. Sam and Bucky clearing the air and talking everything out gave me so much joy. I’m so excited for the finale tomorrow! I wouldn’t hate a season 2 of this show.

Honestly, to be in Walker's shoes must be difficult.. He's just following what he was ordered to do and nothing went right.. Not to mention the pressure of living up to Steve Rogers.. Not saying what he did was right but part of our hate for Walker is because he was an outsider

The opening fight scene between Sam and Bucky vs John Walker, the surprise cameo from Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Sam and Bucky in Louisiana, Sam training with the shield, and this emotional and beautifully written scene with Isaiah's tragic past, this episode was so good!!! And many of the themes here can still be held true for today, especially in regards to racial differences in America back then vs today
Oh, and on a side note, Bucky flirting with Sam's sister Sarah is pretty good too... 😊😊😉

With how big a part Isaiah has become I wonder, if there’s a season 2, if they’ll bring in Josiah since he was the result of those experiments in the comics. I mean they already brought in Rhodey it’d be cool to see the rest of The Crew.
His son will come back for the young avengers probably, Isaiah most definitely for this show though, and i’m sure Josiah won’t be leaving his father anytime soon

@@lombax316 One reason I love BP because a lot of purple there, but more villain (maybe also anti-heroes) than heroes tho. Thanos, Joker, Zemo, Maleficent. I mean, purple doesn't mean the character must be villain like Aladin, Gert Yorkes etc, but a lot of people associated the colour to a "bad guy".

That was a retcon made in 2009. The character Jim Steranko created was not a Nazi. She was a SHIELD agent for most of the comics run, until another writer came along and changed her backstory.

Yeah she was mostly a SHIELD agent and she only infiltrated Hydra (though she gained enough renown to earn herself that nickname). The organisation she was a part of even in her early years was Leviathan who were communist. Even in the changes made, she was still loyal to Leviathan in the end.

Carl Lumbly is an amazing actor. He was great in Justice League, he was great in this.
Him and Michael Rosenbaum are the last 2 of the animated main cast I need to meet.
There is something to be said about the way the US Government treats it’s veterans Isiah fought for a country that hated him for the color of his skin and was experimented on tortured and imprisoned for 30 years never getting to see his wife or child and had to become dead to the world so he could be set free all while not having committed a crime, and John Walker was trained to kill and went on missions and killed who knows how many and was awarded medals that forced him to relive some of his worst days of his life and when he came back home instead of being given psychological help was given a shield and a costume and became the Country’s new mascot
And then after his first mistake they kicked him out

It seems some of these people don't fully grasp the character of Walker, He's a veteran with deep scars and regret, for him the tittle of Captain America is a chance of redemption and to actually make a difference, that's why he fight so viciously for the shield. When when he says to the judges that he did what they asked them to do he talks about being a soldier and all the dirty deeds that comes with that work, the only reason he really was punished it was because he was icon, we see almost in daily basis case where someone leaks documents about the US committing war crimes wherever their soldiers go and nothing happens.
Even though Walker ain’t my favorite character, gotta admit. Grief and a super solider serum are probably one hell of a drug.
