      My mother used to bring that back in her baggage from the UK when I was a kid in the 70s and early 80s. Eventually Customs started seizing it since it was [and so far as I know still is] illegal to import cheese into Canada. Or maybe just undeclared cheese, not sure. I don't know whether it's to protect Canada's domestic cheese cartel through import controls, or for agricultural hygiene and food safety , or all three. Long after, I started to wonder how it had survived the 6 or so hour flight.

    Yes- I thought the bun looked great from the moment it appeared at the start, though I wasn't sure what was in it. I'd definitely scarf that.
    Laughing Cow is the most common spread cheese brand where I am in Ottawa- it's mild [the basic flavour, there are others] but good.

      @@yagirlXoXo @Xo Xo She did. It's a short called "why it's important to make your own bread" or something along those lines. In it she shares why she makes her own bread and she claimed it was because grocery store bread was bad for you because it has chemicals and preservatives 🙄
      Funny thing was, she put up an ingredient list from a ready-made bread on the screen to prove her point, and that list didn't have a _single_ artificial preservative on it. Everything there was either stuff that is needed to make bread or added vitamins and minerals lol.
      I usually like her content but that specific video was very eye-roll worthy.

    • @orezi1328
      @orezi1328 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm pretty sure she meant eating store-bought bread on a regular is bad for your health. which it is but like everything else a little at a time is alright so although she prefers to make her own bread every once in a while she can eat store bought especially if home made isn't available.

    • @raerohan4241
      @raerohan4241 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@orezi1328 Eating homemade bread is no better for your health than store-bought, unless you're making an inherently healthier kind like multigrain or sourdough. But she was just making basic white bread with bleached all-purpose flour. If anything her homemade bread was _less_ healthy than the store-bought because it didn't have vitamins and minerals added like what is done with ready-made bread.
      Like, it's one thing to make your own bread because you want to customise it, or because fresh bread is awesome. It's an entirely different thing to do so because of "chemicals", and even _more_ so to fear monger

    • @orezi1328
      @orezi1328 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@raerohan4241 don't deceive yourself whole grain multi grain they're all still bread which is generally unhealthy but if you make it by yourself at least you can cut out all the additives and preservatives or have you never wondered why home baked bread goes stale so much faster than store bought
