The things is, Tom is known for layering guitarparts on their records. Back in the day he used switch between some of the rythm and melody parts while he sang, playing these newer songs. But I think they just use a backing track for some of the songs so Tom can focus on singing instead of trying to juggle between 2 guitarparts and singing at the same time. Alot of bands use backing tracks these days, U2 has been doing it for years
@@raymon8044 I know about backing tracks. From what I have seen in videos and when I saw them, he is barely playing anything at all. A few ring out chords, and even when he is playing, there ain’t much volume to his guitar, there’s a complete backing track over top of that. It’s a shame. Was an amazing concert non the less.
My exact thoughts. lots of power stands, pick slides aaaaand that's it. Tom is a famous bad guitarist but has he stop trying? Probably as @angleingandsuch said, experience over authenticity. In line with times
@@CliveMillie I loved LA night 1 and San Diego Night 2, but my real favorites were San Jose and Sacramento because I was up close to Tom the entire show. San Diego also didn’t feel too different for a hometown show…I was expecting some crazy energy
Saw him live in pittsburgh. He definitely plays all his parts. The backing tracks fill out his sound and honestly he lets it take over some parts like the verse in this song since I think its hard to play and sing.
That was the point of Neighborhoods though remember, an album combining each members area of artistic expertise, based on their previous years away from blink. Travis uses alot of Hip hop influenced techniques, Mark with his darker side of writing and heavier songs, and Tom with his all around musical fucking genius, using synths, electro effects etc...
@@milkandmeat intermediate at best, he's an incredible song writer. His AVA stuff is incredible along with BCR and a lot of his blink stuff. He's very talented, more talented that you I am sure. He can definitely play guitar but would agree there are far more talented players from a pure playing perspective. But yeah Tom's song writing is incredible.
Does Tom even play guitar or are they just props
He plays some parts
They don’t have authenticity in mind only audience experience

Yup. Most if not all songs have sections that have more than one guitar part
Guys been playing guitar for 40 years. Playing and singing isn't that hard
God he looks so old in the thumbnail cant beleive how ruthless time can be :(((( still sexy af tho!
ayo i was there
ayo me 2
jeje
Tom is morphing into Chad Smith.
they had so much more energy towards the start of their tour haha. completely understandable but tom does not move around like that anymore

do you care if I don't know what to say ❤
will yew sleep tonoight
Will you think of me
I'll never let you down boy i'll never let you, i've given a lot of thought on this 13 hour drive
Tom resembles the bunny in the thumbnail
Lmao
not gonna lie, this song is so AVA
Yep this new live version of the song got hella synth work
The whole neighborhoods album has a lot of AVA influence rock on!
Not gonna lie. You hella gay

That’s why I hate it. AVA is a failed band funded by a millionaire; Tom. He pushed it because he went ask crazy with free masonry.
Tom, you look old bro :(
But still hawt
mark looks way older
Happens to all of us BRO
Starting to look like chad smith and will ferrells long lost brother
He can’t sing or play guitar but for some reason I’ve liked them since high school
its ok to be wrong
Tom himself has said he isnt the best singer or player. but that he loves to write songs. and that is exactly what he does so amazingly!
Dude made some of the most famous riffs in punk rock, and you say he can’t play guitar? 💀🤣
@@ledzep9943you can be famous without being talented. He writes catchy little melodies but it's all intermediate stuff at brst
