Got a new neutral switch to fit to my GL1000 which I believe is a engine out job but had heard it was possible to screw the top out in situ and clean the carbon off the contacts which will fix the neutral light staying on all the time so it was good to see this 👍

Very good information, I wish the videos on the GL dropped sooner. Can’t wait for the next one. I picked up my 77 GL and the engine is stuck from sitting so hopefully can get it to move. Also looking into getting a parts bike to make it easier for spares. Only paid $250 g F or the 77. Good thing I like a challenge.

I try to get 2 videos a week up on TH-cam but at the moment I'm waiting on parts. As the sun has finally made an appearance in the UK I'm also busy in the garden at present. Hopefully normal duty will be resumed soon :-)

Hey, i highly advise you to replace the starter clutch rollers while the engine is out, its really common for them to get gummed up and stuck, either engaged, that will burn up the starter motor, stuck disengaged and make a horrible screeching sound
My starter clutch on my 79 just got stuck disengaged, and i will be pulling the engine out to repair it

...did someone just spray paint this engine housing and all the bolts, and some of the cables, in silver?

The engine casing has been previously sprayed including the bolts. The cables have grey/silver outers on them.
