Our oldest granddaughter wants a small knife to carry so I showed her the victorinox SD in pink and she likes it,so that's what I'm going to order for her
I had a Buck Vantage for a while, but I contacted Buck to tell them that it was unsafe. It would open in my pocket, the lock failed while I was using it to cut, fortunately I was wearing gloves. When dropping it a very short distance, the blade would snap open. I contacted Buck and told them it was unsafe mainly because the liner lock was unreliable. Buck contacted me and asked if I wanted a replacement vantage, but I didn't want another with the same fail points. They let me pick a similar price point knife from their website, and I chose the Spitfire. I liked it at first, the lockback was much more reliable than the liner lock, but soon I realized that the blade is too soft, it needed sharpening too often, and the main screw kept coming loose, lock tite helped but not for long. I ended up giving that away. I've since gone to Kershaw knives and have been very happy with them. They are a no nonsense dependable knife. Sadly, Buck is not what they used to be when I was a kid. I love their history, heritage, and amazing customer service, but their knives are not the quality of what they used to be.
I may have to get one of those wood knife kits for my grandson. Buck makes a Spitfire with I think S30V or S35V as well. That Queen Barlow is nice. I have a Wenger SAK just like that with a light, battery goes in a different way but very similar.
Awesome cool video thumbs up. I like the knife kit. Where did you buy that from? I do like the Barlow also. My father used to carry a knife just like that. ( I have told you the story) I'd like to buy that Barlow if you ever decide to sell it. Thanks for sharing your videos. Stay well & safe.
Tis a good day cause I went to my local pawn shop and picked up an uncle Henry by Schrade that’s in serious need of some tlc. I noticed after the fact it has no snap so I’m hoping a good cleaning will get that sorted. Anyways had a quick question for you. That rem oil you use how much of an odour does it put out? I use 3 in 1 on my knives for the mechs and it works amazing but my only complaint is it has a nasty odour to it. Anyways just wondered
I recently picked up a buck spitfire for my collection and I love it too! It’s really ergonomic and stays really sharp. My feelings for Buck seem to be the same as mine. I really don’t think there’s a bad knife out there too many places since the knife community is booming.
Would the tweezers on the Victorianox be used to punch out the battery? You would think the brand would make it so you could remove the battery without using a tool not attached to the knife.
That’s awesome I’m gonna have to get one of those to use the wooden pieces as a template to make myself a trapper. THANK YOU 🙏 GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY 😊😊😊😊😊😊
Man, that JJ's kit is awesome! I wish I'd had that when I was a kid to understand how a folding knife works. The 722 looks great, I am interested in seeing how it works for you.
Right on doc, i also love the blend of traditionals mixed with a modern folder every so often. Sharpening a 67 camillus us military now, left by my grandfather and the mail just delivered an ebay sak. Gotta check out that spitfire, love that shape of the 112 ranger front bolster in that spitfire frame. See ya next time.
Can't believe you didn't spray any rem oil on that wood one. 🤣😂
Those old Swiss army knives are awesome. I think every kid needs a wooden knife. Barlo knives are timeless
SMOKEY MOUNTAIN KNIFE used to sell those knife kits
@@larrywillis9589 I'll try to order some

Model name is Victorinox Swiss lite red, and flaslight with red light is better for eyes in dark than bright white or yellow ,
I got my first Swiss army knife when I was ten. Grandpa gift also
