      You're welcome! It is fun using the Superduos in jewelry making! Here is another fun project that also uses Superduos that you may enjoy! www.potomacbeads.com/supernest-bracelet-tutorial

    Allie, I must've passed this one up a bazillion times, until today! I finally watched it entirely and when I finally saw it on your wrist, I fell in love! You're incredibly talented and so very clever! Thanks for this tutorial (a few years late), but not too late!

    I made this with Mardi Gras colors....gold matte super duos, green 8/0 beads and purple 3mm pearls. It's gorgeous! Mardi Gras is popular here in Mobile, Alabama. I will definitely make more like this bracelet. I made it in one evening which is nice. Thanks so much!

      Like many bracelets, you can turn it into a necklace by joining it in a V shape at the center.

    I have just recently found your older videos, in this particular video, would it be possible to use a toggle clasp and how can that be done? Don't know how I have missed these older videos I have been doing this for 3 or 4 years now. Not even sure you will see this post, I hope you do and will be able to answer my question. I love your channel and all your videos, I am just not into all the new beads, I have invested to much in many other beads that I feel need to be used first. I do give in from time to time and buy a new bead, now that I know that I should only start with a couple instead of 10 or more different colors is the best thing to do. I have thousands of beads and they are not organized at all, AND I am going to be starting van life late 2019 so there will be no place to put much of what I have. I am taking as much as I can, I will just string them up and sell them. That is the only solution I can come up with... Hope you had a Merry Christmas and now in a few hours a very Happy New Year.

    • @Potomacbeadco
      @Potomacbeadco  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Laverne, yes it can be done, you just need a couple of wire guardians. Start with one wire guardian and drop it down to the centre of your thread, making sure the thread sits inside the channel - keep checking that until you have enough beads on to stabilize it, because it can pop out of place whenever there's slack in the thread. You can add a seed bead to each needle or just add a SuperDuo and so continue with the pattern. At the finishing end, add another wire guardian and finish off your thread. This leaves you with a completed bracelet to which you can now add a jump ring at each end and half the toggle clasp. Happy New Year!

    • @lavernecarroll1195
      @lavernecarroll1195 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Potomacbeadco I have used wire guardians before, when I put the wire guardian on first to the middle of the thread, could I put one half of toggle in the middle of guardian then go from there or would it be better to do it your way...you know better than I do on this kind of thing. Whatever you say is best, I will do.

  • @chris_822

    How much thread would I need to make a wrap bracelet this style? Or could I just tie off and add more?
    For a triple wrap, it'd be about 15 feet right? Split between the two needles, so 7.5 on each side.

    • @Potomacbeadco
      @Potomacbeadco  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, we normally start with a wing span and as is needed

    • @chris_822
      @chris_822 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Potomacbeadco and it's ok to add even though the thread is folded in half? I've never made a project where the thread is folded (though I have many on my list) so wasn't sure if it was possible to do that.

    • @Potomacbeadco
      @Potomacbeadco  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chris_822 You can use as much as you feel like you can bead with at a time. When the thread gets too long the chance of tangling the thread gets greater

    I don't fancy the cup buttons all that much, so I tried using a protector and a regular lobster clasp instead but I'm having some trouble centring it and it shifts a lot. Any suggestions?

    Allie could you help me I have a large wrist and arthritis could you tell me a good magnetic claps that would stay on, thank you.

    • @Potomacbeadco
      @Potomacbeadco  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Sandy, magnetic clasps can be problematic. If you choose a light grip clasp, it can come undone and fall off. If you choose a stronger magnet, it can stick to metal shelves, door handles, cars, etc and you won't necessarily feel it come off.
      There's a tool I've seen that's like a pencil with a clip on one end. You hold the tool in your bracelet hand while the clip holds the loop end of your bracelet, and you use your free hand to attach the clasp through the loop. That might be the best way to go. Toggle clasps are easiest to manage with the bracelet tool.
      Google bracelet buddy.

    hi I really want to make this bracelet, but when your all done with it , I never heard of not making half hitch knots after being done cause that's what I do after making jewelry making knots , not cutting it off at the knot, which type of glue can I use to put on the knot before cutting them off???? I need someone to tell me cause I usually will make half hitch knots not just using glue, but I don't know any other way of making knots besides doing what you did in the video all I need to know is what kind of glue do I need to buy? where can I buy that glue? I looked on your bead site I cant find it, I do have E6000 but I don't know if I can use that on thread. Please I need help to know what to do at the end. I will be using the cup button for my clasp too.

    • @Potomacbeadco
      @Potomacbeadco  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use any type of knot you want to use, and if you feel comfortable with that you can use it. Usually we just use Super New Glue if gluing a beadweaving knot, and it is available here:

    Hi. I just made this bracelet . . . I used a cup button purchased from Potomac Beads, and used 22 11/0's as shown for the loop. I can't get the button through the loop! I used Miyuki 11/0's.

    • @Potomacbeadco
      @Potomacbeadco  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Try using 25

    • @Potomacbeadco
      @Potomacbeadco  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Usually it is good to just test the hole size with whatever you are using as a clasp when you are making it.

    • @MetalGrannie
      @MetalGrannie 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Potomac Bead Company I usually do, but since I was using all the same sizes as the video, including the cup button from Potomac, I didn't think I would need to. Thanks . . . I will add a couple more 11/0's to the loop next time.

    is there anything I can substitute for 8/0. I cannot find them in any store . I know I can purchase online but cannot at this time.

    • @Potomacbeadco
      @Potomacbeadco  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe a 2mm round or fire polished round. Size 8/0 seed beads should be one of the most common beads in the world though.

    • @deborahbreaux8980
      @deborahbreaux8980 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Potomac Bead Company all I can find are plenty 6/0 seed beads. my only options right now are michaels, joanns and hobby lobby. I just found some 15/0 seed beads. I will try 2mm. thank you for your response and tutorials!

    • @niceyoutubecommenter6840
      @niceyoutubecommenter6840 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Deborah Breaux if I remember correctly, in michaels they used to have large packs of seed beads that don't have a number on them, where I am from they are usually called Venice beads (because they are made in Venice and aren't as high quality as Czech beads) and they are usually 2mm. It was a few years ago, so I'm not sure, but they are supposedly pretty common since they are very cheap. Try landing a pack of these. They don't come in as nice colours and usually more suitable for children but if you can't find size 8, it's the closest you can get

    Could you replace the superduo's for berry beads? And 11/0 for 12/0, were I get my beads they don't have 11/0. (In other projects as well)

    • @Potomacbeadco
      @Potomacbeadco  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      11/0 are the most common seed bead type made, so we use them all the time. 12/0 are very rare, and we don't bother to carry them, so using them (or the likewise not very popular berry beads) is going to take some work to modify designs.

    • @ilonaweber695
      @ilonaweber695 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      So if I understand you correctly I can't do projects with 11/0 in it. they don't sell regular seedbeads in size 11/0

    • @Potomacbeadco
      @Potomacbeadco  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is hard to say on anything without actually testing it. You can certainly try, and perhaps on some things it will work, and perhaps some others it will not. If the place that you usually purchase does not sell 11/0 seed beads, then I would just get them somewhere else, as they are one of the most basic sizes and elements for all beadweaving projects. We offer them here:

      I don't think you have seen it yet but I left a reaction on another video :Where can I found the amount of beads you use in your projects? I placed this under the video twisted tubular herringbone stitch. (I want to make this stitch in a necklace and bracelet.)

    • @Potomacbeadco
      @Potomacbeadco  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Everything varies by the size of the bracelet and length. Any of our tubes of seed beads are sufficient for a project, and if you need more, we tell you in that video.

  • @jennifersilva8956

    What is the wrist size for this bracelet? And the finish size?

    • @Potomacbeadco
      @Potomacbeadco  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Allie's wrist is about 7 inches, and most bracelets she makes are that size.

    • @jennifersilva8956
      @jennifersilva8956 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      so the wrist is 7 so the finish is around 7 1/2

      Debbie Grice Did you know that you can adjust the playback speed in the settings (the gear image in the bottom right corner of the video)? You can change it to 50% if that helps. We have very little time to record videos, so we operate at a natural pace, but that speed setting can let people adjust to their comfort level.
