@ Jon wp Hi Jon. I really want to thank you for sending me here. I have been binge watching these and enjoying them thoroughly. You are so right about the talent that Charlotte has in her stable. Watching her ride these different levels brings back so many memories for me. Even though the tests change every 4 years, they basically have the same elements. I thought that I had forgotten all of this, since most of what we see is Grand Prix. But I hilariously found myself riding the movements in my chair with my legs moving too. Am I weird or what? Lol hope you are doing well. 😁👌
@@jinxkrug7000 Hi Jinx. I don''t think you are weird at all, you still have your passion for dressage. There is as you say so much diversity here, Harvey wet dog does it all so well. What do you think of Times Kismet? She looks like a superstar to me. The horse called Imhotep is supposed to be Charlottes next big star but he is the one horse I don't particularly like. His conformation for me isn't harmonious , strange neck. However I'm sure I will be proved wrong as he develops. I find it very difficult to understand how she could sell Gio. Alls well here as I hope it is with you too. 😀
@@jonjonwp Hi to you Jon wp. I am sorry it took me so long to write back. Loved your message. I too like Times Kismet. She is lovely and can move! I laugh when people say mares are so hard to deal with. The example of Brentina comes to mind. Times Kismet reminds me of her in her so cooperative attitude and wanting to please Charlotte. When you earn the trust of a mare, they will actually try to give you more than you are asking for. Debbie McDonald said this and that has been my experience as well. I think what happens to make this opinion is people try to "force or demand " an action , and not ask in a way that she understands. Anyway, typical woman, right? I agree with you on Imhotep and his neck, but I hesitate myself to make a judgement, since I have not seen him just in hand. I am always a bit surprised at how long a horse's neck gets when they walk out of the arena on a relaxed, long rein. But I agree with you that something just doesn't seem right. I fell in love with Gio at the Olympics and was shocked when I heard that she had sold him. I guess that I was naive to think that she would keep him and come back again for a Gold like with Valegro. But Valegro was early in her career. And seeing the stable of horses she has now, I understand. After all he's still in her barn, isn't he? I honestly don't know how she does all she does in a day, except for her youth and an incredible staff and support system she has. And I don't underestimate Carl's contribution to their whole operation and success either. I did as much in a day, plus 3 young kids, managing and maintaining my farm and business, my breeding program and working with the foals on up quite a lot every day. Yes, I was exhausted, but I loved it. Unfortunately I am now paying for the abuse that my body endured. Been having issues, but it looks like I may have lived through another Iowa January of bouts of Artic vortexes. If I were still in Massachusetts near Boston, where my best friend still is, I would be having to deal with almost 3' of snow and maybe no power. So I really can't complain. Stay well Jon and we'll talk soon. 😊
Don’t forget Valegro was initially put up for sale after London 2012 as well. I’m wondering if we’ll see Gio at the Junior Europeans at Hartpury this year. But I guess the combination has to qualify. Take care.
@@harveywetdog Indeed I am aware of that. But I am sure Charlotte wouldn’t deliberately push her young horses; I could be wrong. She no doubt has a natural feel for each horses’s ability and won’t go beyond that. I admire her how well she looks after her (well not hers) horses like retiring Valegro when many in the sport push them past their best.
Fun to see Charlotte on a youngster. The horse looks like he loves what he is doing. So well done.
Thank you for sharing! That was lovely to watch!
Such and exciting youngster - ready for the ones already ha ha - great to see the tact on him too.
Thanks for the share beautiful horse
Fantastica!!! Una amazzone straordinaria !!
Thanks for this video. It's keenly appreciated.
And here I am struggling with prelim on a 6 year old lol. I wish I had Charlotte’s skill x
No doubt about his potential. Slightly distracted today but he is only 4.

Thank you Jinx, spread the word; I’m delighted that the video is sufficiently clear for you to ride the moves.

That extended trot at 4 years old 😍
Thank you for your comment; of course there is a school of thought that says that it is wrong for young horses to be expected to perform in this way
