as someone who struggles greatly with self esteem and confidence, i can definitely say that having others around you to help build it is absolutely crucial. my experience has been that most people prefer to put others down in an attempt to boost their own low self esteem instead of being supportive. no battle is won by one person, and the battle against the self is not won without the support of others..

Three Dog, you are correct. I was raised by people who very methodically and purposefully destroyed my sense of self and whatever confidence I may have had. One way they made sure to do this was to constantly move long distances as soon as I started making connections with people. I'm working to learn how to undo all that destructive programming in my own head so that I CAN make those healthy connections with people who uplift and encourage. I'm deeply grateful for people like this man who teaches what we should all have been able to learn. 💛

It's so very hard to find real friends. The few I've tried to connect with have just stolen from me. My trust is so demolished and my lonely heart breaks daily. I can only rely on self love, and that's why self confidence and my own inner joy is such a crucial lifeline. I can only be sure that my own heart does not turn dark; I cannot be responsible for any more than that. Most true evil is caused by humans who know better but choose it anyways. I won't let that evil in.

I was so very blessed growing up. I'm 55 years old and my parents raised me to be comfortable in the skin that I'm in. I was taught that my self esteem should never be dependent upon anyone else's approval. Treat people the way you would like to be treated and to never make fun of anyone that's different from me. It is the things about each of us that are different that make us each unique and special. I've always considered not "fitting in" or not following the crowd to be one of my very best qualities. The only person I will ever have to be good enough for is me. The same goes for each and every human being. Thank Grandfather for your wisdom.

I hitch hiked through Navajo country in Arizona. Two native men noticed me at a trading post late in the day. They asked if I had shelter for the evening. I said I do I have a tent on my pack. But you have nowhere to pitch your tent they replied. I agreed. They said come with us and I did. They told me to pitch my tent in their yard, I did. They offered me into their humble home and wanted to know more about me. As I did them. We shared much of our cultures and differences and similarities. The next morning I was wakened from my tent with a beautiful breakfast. I was later taken to my distinction by their generosity. Those men changed my trust in people.

I got bullied and belittle at school because of that. I hurt through all my elementary and junior high school. Today I feel lost but I go to work daily. You sound like one of the special people on this earth who doesn't fit in just like we're told that we would be in the world, but not of it. I hope you don't mind me using scripture, but our Messiah said in Matt 11:28 Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”… Reading scripture just for the pure words and not for any type of religion, but just relationship with our Creator has been the thing that healed me from depression and anxiety. I have never found groups that accepted me either, but our Creator said He would never leave us nor forsake us. He has healed me in so many ways. His love is so great and He wants our love back. Many blessings to you friend, you're not alone.

I know how you feel. I feel the same. I do not know exactly who my Native ancestors were. But I feel that if the mainstream society began to understand that the Earth is not a resource but a living breathing Being then maybe the destruction of the last 500 years might begin to end. The land is so important to Indigenous peoples and their sacred sites have been desecrated and sold. Culture and language is so important to all of the Native American communities. If we could heal our past, restore sacred sites, stop building gas pipelines that pollute the sacred waters, stop shaving off tops of mountains to build telescopes we could help Indigenous people by supporting what means most to them. America was once clean and beautiful and everyone would benefit from that.

      How can you help?
I can show you. But in order to do so I must explain many things in this world to you first.
The main thing I would say is trust the judgement of the Tribe. Support their authority when it counts. Believe the things they tell you.

Much appreciated these videos are being presented. Many teachings of Native Americans are absolutely one hundred percent correct. Had the white man followed theses teachings - from all native Americans - there would have been much more peace on this continent.

I needed to find this. I've always asked what my name meant and no one could ever explain it to me. I've been told it means Happy Man, forever beautiful, for him happiness, walking beauty, forever in beautiful. They always felt so simple, my family has always made the meaning of my name sound important.
    Báházhóni
I needed this right now. My friend Brennan took his life yesterday. We talked about confidence and finding happiness one of the last times we talked. We talked about trying to find a way when others arround you tear you down. He was a very kind man, that was very quiet and tried his best to not offend others even though many saw him as kind and polite.

Interesting perspective. I always enjoy these because they strangely line up with so many aspects of undiluted Christianity. It's as though you're describing different aspects of what is true and real. This video I didn't think I was going to agree with, but after listening to you, I find my understanding of the wholeness of truth, broadened with your wisdom. I have a lot of respect and admiration for the Navajo people. The wisdom you convey onto others is sorely missing in the lives of so many. I am thankful for your teachings, and I will honor you by carrying them with me onto my children.

Yes! Being part of a loving community is so important! Even more so if one has lost all of his or her family! I had wonderful parents, who were always encouraging. Still...I wish I had learned this path of living in harmony with the Earth & being literally, grounded to the Earth! It’s when I’m out in nature by a singing brook, sitting on the grass, or on a rock, listening to a waterfall, or my feathered friends singing, that I feel I need nothing...I am whole...one with it all! I LOVE THAT! Thank you, Uncle Wally for sharing this vital wisdom! My heart overflows with tears in gratitude for it! 🙏🏼☀️

Having his approval (not always of our actions, but our selves) gave us confidence, and a sense of peace and joy.

I have always loved Native Americans, and have been especially inspired by their natural beauty, which comes from being taught to be confident at a very young age, and to love who they are as human beings by learning in their youth about human nature(the good , bad & the ugly) and to be consistently encouraged by their Elders, so that they will grow confident & courageous to confront peacefully to whatever challenging situations & people especially that they meet on their Life Journey! I love these teachings thank you so much🙏😊💥🌈💖
