For real though, if somebody can figure out the science behind this they could just pump out banger after banger
probably because of the sudden change of tempo. Honestly it’s just a guess cus ion know nothing abt music theory. However, i’ve definitely heard a couple of songs that have the same vibe as that part and it never fails to sound good.
On the philosophical side of things, it feels like some sort of "unshackling". Like when someone who had been suffering quietly all this time finally let all of their grievances out all of a sudden, which feels liberating. Or it could be a hero finally unraveling to others what the audience had known this entire time. To be honest, this feels like the perfect "protagonist" song, or the song of those who suffer.
It sets up anticipation, and then the drop is ecstatic release. Similar to finishing a melody with the perfect note. If the last note is discordant, it sounds off and we are dissatisfied
My favorite line in this song is at the end: The shadows are closing in, asking "What are you?"
This is because in the first episode Kage meets Bojji and said "What are you?"

and in Japanese kage (影) mean the shadow

The first line hooked me "right now, there is someone choking back tears," I was doing that as the episode came out. The narration of the lyrics, visual, and the vocal are all powerful. What a soulful song of our hero Bojji.
It's like this anime wants its audience to cry and everyone in the production knows it

At first I was super dissatified about the change in theme songs, but I just didn't expect that I would replay this songs so many times like this. This is the best.
I thought I would be dissatisfied too bc I really liked the first one, but honestly both the theme songs are so good in their own right. The first one had a more cute and wholesome tone and this one just seems more mature and cool and I like that.

I didn’t care much for the first one but the second hits so damn hard that I have to watch the opening every time. It makes me nervous for when season 2 comes out because I don’t think it will top or even match how great this opening is.
They're both good but this is one I always love to replay every now and then. The opening alone was a rollercoaster of emotions which is why its my favourite and I'm so glad WIT was the one who did the story justice
when I first heard this song, while I understand very little Japanese, I immediately felt this overwhelming yet warm feeeling of "i know its been hard but don't give up" and immediately teared up with just the song's melody. When I dove in to the lyrics, I can't stop tearing up man. It's such a beautiful song.

なまくら(鈍) means blunt-sword. It was used as a Metaphor for "Lack of experience" or "Weakness" in Japanese a long time ago. I have never heard this expression for over 20 years. Anyway, I appreciate your translation as I love this song too.

Vaundy never misses, honestly wouldn't of been so disappointed about the op change if I first heard vaundy was doing it.
I love the contrast between Boy (the first op) and this. The beginning half is relatively storybook-esque, but as soon as Hadaka No Yuusha appears, it lets you know that shit is gonna go down. It doesn't lose the storybook aspect, but it definitely gets a bit heavier. And that is why I love this show and it hurts that it's show is so overlooked

Nokoshite "ittana" doesn't even exist. ittana is no word. the word it "itta" which mean left in past tense. "Nokoshite itta" = leave behind. "namakura" is then a dull sword.
And I said check the line before. Song is not about stand-alone lines, it continues the previous one.
The sear power of those song helps me in even the most tragic moments of my life I'm glad it was made and I found it

Guess it's rather outlined for Bojji since he is suffering the curse his father put on him

This intro literally made my jaw drop when I first saw it. I didn't expect it to instantly drop and become so intense after just the first sentence. And the visuals of the flower blooming and the diamond in the palm of a dirtied hand really hit when it comes to symbolism.

Song is perfectly written or picked for the anime series. It is beautifully sad and joyous at the same time that gives you a feeling of inspiration to overcome any obstacles life throws at you. The style reminds me of a Radiohead and Smashing Pumpkins song.
