Great video! I am hyped for Wonder although my favorite Mario’s are the 3D ones Galaxy 1 and 2 are my faves but I actually love Sunshine too because of the theming and I think it is the best Mario has felt to control. It has a lot of flaws you mentioned though!
Thanks! Wonder looks promising since it actually seems to have an identity. The “New” games just feel kinda soulless compared to most of the series. As for Sunshine, a lot of the aspects I don’t enjoy are so baked into the experience that even a project like Sunburn doesn’t feel like enough. I just chalk it up to one that doesn’t click for me, it happens.
i prefer galaxy 1 over galaxy 2, i like the music more, i prefer the atmosphere and emotion of galaxy one way more than galaxy 2, that being said, galaxy 2 is still so peak
I'm glad to see you rank 3d world so high. I feel that game is criminally underrated. With sunshine I love the game but at the same time each revisit I find the flaws are more noticeable. It's funny because I feel the controls are very tight but the ridiculously linear mission structure really hinders the game..still enjoy it for what it is but yeah. Interestingly, I find the galaxy games I don't replay nearly as often as 64 or odyssey as I find the experience tends to be similar on repeat playthroughs, which is funny because I don't feel that way about 3d world, probably because 3d world is completely focused. Admittedly I have been hard on the galaxy games in the past but after replaying them again recently, the games have aged very well. Tbh the only game I legit dislike is the lost levels. That game just isn't fun, reminds me of the troll levels in Mario maker. I enjoyed listening to your opinions even though I don't agree with them all completely, it's great listening to another Mario fans opinions. I'm super stoked for Mario bros wonder. To me it looks like it will rival world as my favorite 2d Mario.
3D World might not be the most thematically cohesive or mechanically deep but I had a blast replaying it after so long. Definitely overlooked compared to the other 3D Mario games. For Sunshine: While I’m not the biggest fan of the movement, it’s mainly FLUDD I don’t like. I find it clunky and tedious to use in a lot of instances. Wish I highlighted that more in the video tbh The galaxy games are so masterfully crafted that I don’t even mind replays feeling similar. Thankfully there’s some flexibility in the order you tackle the levels and playing as Luigi seems like a fun albeit small shakeup. The experience is pretty rich though so indulging in a replay without sufficient time to “digest” so to speak, will no doubt burn anyone out. I agree Lost Levels is just not fun, probably should’ve been in a lower tier on its own. Thanks for listening and glad you enjoyed the video!

I can respect it, I kinda flip flop between which I prefer but they’re both goated

how about "Brand-New! Super Duper Mario Bros Plus."
For real, and this isn’t even far off from some of the names they’ve done too lol
