I'm an Englishman who only did 6 years in the Royal Engineers in the 1970s, but I had lots of Scottish mates in the RE's who had brothers in Scottish regiments like the Black Watch. My most memorable part of my Army service was being bagpiped out of Drumadd Barracks Armagh, by pipers from the Queens Own Highlanders, who took over from us.
My Nana was born and raised in Edinburgh. She met my grandfather who was English and were married. I am proud of my Scottish and English heritage. I love watching the different nations parade their troops. It instills pride in the soldiers and it creates a bond with the civilians. I am a Marine Vietnam veteran and am very proud of our flag and our country. President Trump tried to organize a magnificent parade in our Nations Capital and was vilified as a war monger and dictator by the weak kneed liberal socialist democrats. I am so proud that nations still parade their military as a show of strength and pride.🇺🇸🦅⚔️🇬🇧
