I love that they kept the puns between languages. In japanese, phoenix's name is "naruhodo" which is also a word that means "i see" so people would say "naruhodo, naruhodo"
Yeah people tend to joke about pun names in localization but the Japanese version has just as equally punny names. For example, Larry's surname is Yahari, which is another way to say "yappari" that means "as expected" or "just as one thought" etc. So the "When something smells, it's usually Butz" in the Japanese version is something like "as expected, (if something goes wrong,) it's Yahari."
If anything, the localized version has a lot of puns in order to respect the fact that the original version had a lot of puns. I also love that in the Great Ace Attorney series where the existence of Japanese characters finally became absolutely unavoidable, the localizers didn't just preserve all the Japanese names but came up with Japanese-sounding names that work as English puns, which is the exact mirror image of what the Japanese version did to the British characters' names.

The games are great, some cases are definitely better written than others, but the experience as a whole is amazing. The original trilogy has some of the most iconic and seminal cases that eventually with elements that eventually became staples of the series. Once you're done with the trilogy there's an anime adaptation that covers them. Some elements are slightly changed here and there, but I think they overall did a pretty good job covering everything.

It’s nonsensical fun and does a fantastic job at keeping your attention all the way through. Ps. The immediate Wrightworth vibes had me dying. It’s just that obvious.
I stumbled across your channel because of the hilarious Herlock Sholmes montage, so I guess you're on the right track about being know for this series. :D As a long time fan of AA, I always love seeing new people discover them. Hearing you say this might become your favorite at case TWO made my day. I know you've already played Great Ace Attorney, but still. It would've been understandable to be a bit letdown after it, especially since the gameplay wasn't as developped in the first AA. I also adore how you were already on the boat because you knew about Edgeworth.
What I am absolutely stunned is how you deduced (correctly if I may risk saying) the phoenix and miles totally real bromance within seconds. Bravo.
Yooooo, I just saw this today and decided to check your channel to see the last part uploaded like 2 days ago. Perfect timing!
the way she predicts dialogue lmaooo, this gonna be my new weekly youtube obsession
it's kkinda funny how I seem to be the only person to give the judge a more comical voice rathr than a deep and authoratative one XD prbably cause I was more aware of th type of character he actualy was XP
I’ve always kinda struggled to get into the Phoenix Wright entries of the Ace Attorney franchise (For stupid reasons, my first exposure to it was Apollo Justice back in the day so he was my favourite and I always felt like the other games did him a disservice) so I’m glad to experience vicariously through Crystal.
Did you play Trials And Tribulations ?
Because it's the best Ace Attorney game and one of the best games to ever exist and if you haven't, you should defiitely give it a shot
@@undernet4433 I’ve heard a lot of good things about but never got around to playing it
My first game was also Apollo Justice!!! He's still my favorite lol
@@jonasquinn7977honestly I feel like that the first two games are just okay but they become amazing when you consider the games as parts of the trilogy. The third game wraps up the trilogy in a fantastic way so I do highly recommend playing it as well.
Just found your channel, at 3am, and I'm immediately obsessed with this playthrough!!! You're SO MUCH FUN to watch!
SORRY I'm back to this comment to say: I'm so happy you got noticed by the Ace Attorney twitter account because of your edgeworth cosplay LMAO I ADORE YOUR CONTENT EVEN MORE NOW
LET'S GOOOOOO I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOR SO LONG!!!! Indeed nothing can top TGAA, but the trilogy is still an absolute classic and I'm sure you'll have a blast with it! I'm so excited!!!
I’m so glad that you finally got to start this LEGENDARY Series CrystAAHHL.
You are definitely in for a treat with series
I'm usually working during your livestreams so I can never watch them, but just so you know that you are one of my fav TH-camrs and I'm really happy you're playing one of my fav games!
Even tho I can never watch you live, just wanna let you know that you make my days way better and thank you for that!
wtf this is so sweet?! thank you so much that means a lot!!
49:33 Of course it was not real. The case was closed by a freaking GHOST.
It brings me so much joy watching Crystal becoming an AA super fan during her GAA streams and now to see them go back to the original trilogy is so cool!
I loved when Edgy turned the streamer into a crow, my favorite part.
Of course you had to love this saga, I knew it! lol.
Even if you are only at the fourth case by now, I can imagine how you're gonna end by the third game. I'm betting myself wich characters will be the most annoying to you, wich are gonna be favorites, or even "turnabouts" ones...
"I can't imagine being in court and being attacked by a weave"
Oh just you wait :D
23:08 “I recognize this character by his fuchsia outfit,” said CrystAAHHL calmly.
For some reason I really didn't think about how perfect it would be to see AA playthrough on your channel! I played the whole trilogy plus AJ back in 2020, and since then really didn't had a lot of opportunity to watch more people enjoy it
24:08 Because I have a feeling that there is a sense of what I would like to call "the gays"
Dang she saw Edgeworth for two seconds and it already caused some major *unnecessary feelings* within her.
Considering she tearfully said tGAA was her new favorite game, surprised she's taken so long to play this. HYPED AS HELL THOUGH!!
Okay so an affidavit (affa-DAH-vit) is basically a legal written testimony. It's also done under oath, so if you lie in the affidavit (and it gets presented in court as evidence) you can potentially be charged with perjury if the lie is found out and the judge is frustrated.
You too shall join the Wright Anything Agency "Ace Attorney LP Highlights" Compilations Playlist.
Detective Dick Gumshoe. A detective so nice, they named him thrice (dick and gumshoe have been slang for detective, though dick is from like 1950 or smth)
I thought you were already an Ace Attorney streamer, because that's how I found you from you Great Ace Attorney Chronicle videos. I'm glad you're playing the original games now. They just get better from here!
So glad you're playing this game! I just finished this game myself a few days ago, and seeing your experience with it is so fun!
I'm here for this. Subbed originally because of your LOVELY Great Ace Attorney videos. I really loved them.
Your first reaction of seeing Edgeworth was literally the same as mine 😭😭🙏🙏 Except I went through the 5 Stages of " A Miles Edgeworth fan " ( Or at least in my experience )
2nd Chapter - " OH MY GOD IT'S HIM!! "
Still.. 2nd Chapter - " Wait he looks really gay "
Second half of 2nd/First Half of 3rd Chapter - " Oh F this guy. ( He's still cool )"
4th Chapter - " Oh wait.. "
5th Chapter - " OH MY GOD IT'S HIM!! I LOVE HIM :D "
That was basically my experience, although I did come into Ace Attorney saying " He's going to be my FAVORITE, I will LOVE him. "
Sis, I am DYING at your reaction to Miles! I cannot wait till you get to the end of Trial #3...😏
imagine her at turnabout goodbyes
I started watching this ENTIRELY FORGETTING how much you hate puns & I'm excited to see all the reactions. 😂😂😂
This is the first video of yours that I stumbled upon and subscribed immediately! I love how much you enjoy playing this because this was my exact energy when I first played these games more than a decade ago. They are still on my top 5 favorite games ever. So good!
I got this game 1hr before bedtime on a weekday. did the first (tutorial) case and though "oh that was fast!" so "one more!" Yeah I had 4hr sleep that night xD This game is my absolute favourite so far. On the last case for the first game of the triology and I am in love . It just takes a lot of time... a lot, a lot of time. But so worth it
Can't wait for the variously-colored custom suits to come in for the future streams.
Also a shoutout to Alexander O. Smith, one of the best localizers out there.
HOW DID I MISS THIS UPLOAD??? OMG so glad to see you play this!
Another banger of a series to be obsessed with. GAA is the peak but there's not a bad game in the bunch and it's easy to fall in love with the characters. Welcome to the club.
1:19 Chrystahhhl- Order in my courtroom
Me- I want a grilled cheese!
2:29 Junko- Despairrrrr!
20:02 April- I'm a cat. Meow!
20:31 Moosestache powers, activate!
24:24 Objection!
No that's wrong!
I'll slash through this mystery!
Phoenix's tie is a lighter shade of Miles' clothes. Even with lighting, the color is still too dark to match the spectrum. So the colors don't match at all.
26:34 Full Metal Alchemist spit take
Why did we need the jiggle!?
33:15 Miles- Objection, that was objectionable!
Jeff Winger- Objection, that's not a real objection
Judge- Objection I hate the both of you
46:38 Loud gremlin noises
Ohmygodsohot!
This game really is fun and I see why it's so popular. Even though I pretend to be a master detective trying to solve this case, it still took me for a loop.
You had me when you pulled out an emergency moustache. True sign of a quality TH-camr.
Welcome to the club!
I remember playing this game in middle school 15 years ago and having fond memories of it at 30.
Also, the fact you and this game share the same corny humor is hilarious. Careful; The game is stealing your thunder.
15:50 ...I miss 11037 too
Now you see why this franchise became a meme. And you’ve met the sexiest man that the prosecutor’s office gave us…… WINSTON PAYNE!!!!
playing GAA before even the original trilogy is so wild to me
Wait till case 4 mate, you gonna love Edgeworth even more
Crystahl continues to have the best taste in fictional men
"It's not a Leon moment"
Didn't expect my guy 11037 Kuwata to show up here
It's interesting watching someone play Ace Attorney the very first time, after playing The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles first. TGAA games are great (pun not intended); but there is a reason why the original AA series is a classic...
34:40 Say David. Now make it Davit. Now say Affirm, but with a soft quick i. Combine the two to day affidavit.
I’m so glad you enjoy Ace Attorney! The (punily named) characters are so charming. The drama is so intense. The music is so immersive. The writing pulls it all together so well. It’s nonsensical fun and does a fantastic job at keeping your attention all the way through.
Ps. The immediate Wrightworth vibes had me dying. It’s just that obvious.
I played this game ... Well nearly 20 years ago ...
It was my first Ace Attorney game.
It is great to see someone discovering it.
Let it be noted in the Court Record that Miss M.issing I.n A.ction Fey is so much of a badass that she avenged her own death.
Finally here! Feel like been awaiting for like years for this XD
OH MT GOD LET'S GO I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'RE PLAYING ACE ATTORNEY WOOOOOO
good to see Crystaahl had the proper reaction to anything Edgeworth related
:3
42:42 it's a ,, killer says what'' moment. Exactly like 3rd case in danganronpa trigger happy havoc
Man, this channel is so based. Yakuza, Resident Evil, Ace Attorney, Persona GODDAMN
Just straight bangers out here.
45:10 onward is EXACTLY how frustrating I feel a courtroom is actually like
I’m waiting for Edgeworth to join the upper echelons alongside Akechi and Nagito as characters Crystahl loves to hate. 😂
Something about Crystal saying "Wait...he just took my joke" while Sahwit foams at the mouth and collapses is so funny to me.
The turnabout big top music is foreshadowing something that i'll love to see later lmaooooooo
I stumbled across your channel because of the hilarious Herlock Sholmes montage, so I guess you're on the right track about being know for this series. :D
As a long time fan of AA, I always love seeing new people discover them. Hearing you say this might become your favorite at case TWO made my day. I know you've already played Great Ace Attorney, but still. It would've been understandable to be a bit letdown after it, especially since the gameplay wasn't as developped in the first AA.
You're right not to care about the realism or legal stuff : it's a court drama, not a law course. If it's fun and makes for good entertaining storytelling, then it's good.
Loved your reactions, and kudos to AllanRayy for the editing. The "them" segment had me fall out of my chair laughing. Can't wait for you to discover the Investigations Collection !!
god, ace attorney is probably my favorite series ever, so i am SO happy that crystaaahl's loving these games so much!!
