I've been a member of the purse forum for awhile and going into the Hermes forums was always a little intimidating for me ( and also confusing as I didn't know where to begin my research ). I used to always say that my first Hermes bag would be an Evelyne but didn't know where to begin. You're comparison was super helpful and educational and now I have a place to start. Thanks again!

Actually, as of 2019 the Évelyne bag comes in four sizes: TPM, PM, GM and TGM (which stand for Très Petit Modèle 16cm, Petit Modèle 29 cm, Grand Modèle 33cm and Très Grand Modèle 40cm).
The Évelyne also comes in Chevre (goat) leather and in Canvas & leather combo. Which is beautiful, mostly seen in the GM size.
The Évelyne Sellier (not the perforated H on the back, but a stamped one) comes in 29 and 33 and is made of Vache Hunter (goat) cowhide leather. Hence the name Hunter Évelyne. It also comes in Epsom leather.
btw I used similar "bottomless pit" handbags of a similar shape all through my university days (not Hermès though). I think it has its charm for very young women including the clumsy searching around the handbag. But yeah for adults I belive this organizer is amazing!
The Evelyn can be an “insert” for the garden party if you have to be away from the desk for a short time only. Great video, Mel. I love the color of the garden party tote. 😍

As I mentioned on Instagram, I’ve wanted to Evelyne for quite some time so it’s great to see what you have to say about it 😍 personally, I like the Evelyne more than the Garden Party but I see what you mean about the unlined leather - I’d definitely be nervous about that as well! For the Evelyne, I had seen people remove the strap and use a Hermes scarf as the strap. It looked good too.

Hi Mel. I believe you can get inserts that actually have zips on them. I have not come across one, but it would be my preference with an open bag. I worry about people helping themselves to my stuff! I much prefer the Garden Party with the clips done up. That removes its somewhat 'help yourselves thieves!' look, the same way I think the LV Neverful looks! (Me? Paranoid?!!!) I really like the Evelyn, but the dots in the form of an H annoy me. I feel that I am advertising Hermes! (Irrational, I know!) Apparently there is a version of the Evelyn which has no H on it. That would be my choice, but as usual with Hermes, it is probably very hard indeed to track down. Thank you for another smashing video and have a fabulous day!

Apart from the Kelly, which is my holy grail bag, I am really not a fan of the Hermes bags. But I enjoyed this very much anyway. Your presentation is so good and so full of information that the video came to the end and I thought, where did the last half an hour go? I was enjoying it so much it felt like 10 minutes. These comparison videos are fantastic and I hope you do some more in the future. A good one would be between your Kellys and your Lady Dior. They are very different bags but to me they occupy a similar functional place. Does that make sense? I think of them both as special going out bags but not formal.

Hi Mel, I love this review. Most of my bags are from LV and I have one Chanel bag. I will be traveling to Paris from the US soon and I had thought that I would purchase another Chanel bag, but with the price increases and considering that my life style has recently changed to working from home and most of my daily activities are very casual like going to the gym or running errands, I have been thinking a lot about getting an Evelyn or a Garden Party bag instead. This would be my first time purchasing anything from Hermes. Did you end up acquiring another Evelyn after all and if so what size and color? Do you think there's an advantage to purchasing it in Paris? Or should I go for another Chanel bag? I already have a flap bag and don't use it often so I was thinking more of a casual bag like the Deauville tote. What do you think? I would really love to know your thoughts.

Hi Mel, love your videos, they are so informative. If you have to pick one, which one would you choose? Garden party 36 or 30? I am 164cm in height. I just got a black leather garden party 36 today as part of my birthday haul from Hermès. but I went home feeling like I should have gotten a smaller size bag. Never exchange anything with Hermès, are you familiar with their policy? I don’t want to jeopardize my relationship with my sales associate in case I really want to exchange the GP36 with a GP30. Hope you can shed some light on the situation. Please let me know which size do you prefer. Thank you!!

Do you have any lower end but still nice brands like Coach or Tory Burch? I have been really happy with my purchases from the Coach Outlet and I feel like I can't justify a luxe purchase given how good the Coach bags are!
Hi lovely I actually have a collection of many other bags (not branded) some leather some non leather. I haven't tried Tory Burch but I used to own a coach bag many years ago which I then gave to my mum. Coach bags are great as well and if you are happy with them, you should continue to buy them :) I personally love Hermes bag especially because I love the craftsmanship behind them but we all love and appreciate different things. Yes I wish I knew about it too! So many of my friends that I have spoken to about it had the same issue. They either sold it or didn't really use it. 7RP only just released the insert and if i had known about it, I wouldn't have sold mine as well. Yes same here I am definitely looking at buying another one but what colour? hehe xo
