Very instructive video, thanks for sharing! I'm a chemical engineering student in Brazil and have found your video very helpful as I'm now starting my way in the research field of ethanol synthesys from cellulosic waste... Keep up the good work!

bro i am also trying to make ethanol from biomass but how to do enzyme hydrolysis, i am really confused which materials i can use to convert cellulose into glucose. please help me bro.

Hi! Congrats on the video! Is there any paper that supports the glucose meter methodology? In general the DNSA method is used

Do you need 19mL of water for successful hydrolysis? Seems like a lot of water. I would think with the size of the other volumes the water could be more like 5mL or something.

Nice video....Can you say what enzymes you are using for enzymatic hydrolysis? Thus this enzymes can be used for all the lignocellulosic biomass?

I am a highschool student who is working on a senior research project which entails synthesising bioethanol from organic waste. After extensive research I have seen that enzymatic hydrolysis is recommended as pretreatment to increase the bioethanol yield rate. To undergo the enzyme based hydrolysis would I simply follow the same procedure as shown in this video?

Yes you need to treat most organic waste with enzymes in order to have a successful fermentation. The enzymes unlock the cellulose without that there will be no sugar for the yeast to consume unless your fermenting fruit or something else with sugars.

thank you for posting how you performed saccharification! i searched all over internet, from journals to youtube and i was still very lost about how to perform enzymatic saccharification until i found your video. However, may I clarify some things?
    1) Can i use the same steps as you did on other samples, like fruit waste? I am currently a student researching about converting cellulosic biomass to ethanol so i was wondering if i could use the same steps as you did for the wood chips.
    2) May i know the names of the chemicals you used? I am super new to this so i am not sure of most chemical names.
    3) How do you perform the dilute acid pretreatment? My groupmate also couldn't find anything on the internet.
I'm sorry for asking so many questions but I hope you can find the time to answer me. Thank you for the video again. It has showed me a good insight of how saccharification works.

the acid pretreatment is just soaking the wood chips in a 10wt% sulfuric acid solution while cooking in an autoclave for an hour. Give me your email and I can forward you some stuff about it

Anirbas Run using fruit you should be able to just skip straight to fermentation because there is no need to separate the glucose from the cellulose as there are already fermentable sugars in fruit waste

Nice .. I appreciate your video. I want to do the same thing with textile waste (cotton) . Kindly please send me some more information about it? 2404954388@qq.com Thank you so much..
