28:03 Why would you go with the T3 Temperature Amplifier mod over the Densification Ray on the Wave Cooker if you're using it with the Sludge Pump and not either of the flame thrower or cryocannon temperature primaries?
Was a mistake, left over from changing it from a flamethrower build to CSP. that’s what was used in the video, but not what you should use haha

As someone who mostly plays Driller this is a work of art. You make everything look so easy and every movement is on point. I play quite differently to you, mostly use DRG as a chill out game with friends on Haz 3 or 4 rather than "speed running" Haz 5 but I still learn a lot from your gameplay. Sludge Pump has quickly become my favourite weapon by far, it's so much fun to use, very powerful and extremely ammo efficient when used well
Yea I agree with the gameplay differences. I use DRG as my “chill” game. I mainly play solo since my friends don’t play it but I still find a haz 4 or 5 solo run to be pretty chill with just enough combat so I don’t get bored but I don’t run around like I’m on crack lmao
@@BigBroccoli_ how long did it take you to get to the point where haz 4/5 solo missions are chill? I've only just promoted my first dwarf and haz 4 missions seem just like a never-ending stream of enemies, still have yet to complete one solo.
@@chriswebster839 I started out the game by playing haz 4 so after like 20 hours of strictly playing haz 4 solos, they became familiar and chill. Granted, there are still definitely stressful situations in haz 4s lmao
@@chriswebster839 you just gotta lean into it. Start intertwining Haz 4 and 3 together to get used to the difference and work from there
@@BigBroccoli_my experience so far has been that solo is very chill no matter what, the game won't throw many enemies your way but when it does you better pray you'll live.
The dodges BETWEEN the trijaw shots at 6:04 instead of just going under them did it for me haha
if the trijaw is not very far above you, i have gotten hit by going under so I think he did the right thing there
I’m fairly certain that this is what all of DRG’s veteran roughnecks look like in action.
50 seconds in and I am in absolute awe at how smooth those maneuvers were. Barely 450 hours in, got a long way to go. Rock and stone you beautiful bastard!
I've only seen the CRISPR part. So much information to observe. But I really likes this video. The lack of commentary forced me to pay attention to the video. It showed alot, but it alluded to a lot of rapid information processing, assessing threats, gauging ammo, using best expenditure with aims to travel the map efficiently. Playing driller for 60 or so hours, I now see the king that is sticky flames with patience. Great stuff man. Can't wait to watch the second half of this video tomorrow.
sticky is definitely fun but its just as fun running max damage facemelter or just maximum possible ammo basic (x233x with compact feed valves)
I've never thought to use drills for negating fall damage. I'll try that.

It's insane your playstyle! Always a pleasure to watch and I keep learning from you. Im working on second promotion for driller atm (on ps4). No preferences for me, all classes feel good in their own way.

Driller was my least fav class for a while but they’ve recently become the one I reach for most often!
Your flow and mechanical skill is a joy to watch and something I aspire to get close to someday.

At the end of the day, does driller ( with burn around him or freeze around him ) need thorn? I'm new to the game and I am unsure about it after watching your perk tierlist where you said it's not needed. This video is more recent tho and I see you using it, so I am confused. Advice pls :D

If you ask me the subata needs a buff. Both alt secondaries outclass it due to the crowd control capability they have. Like they could just increase the max ammo for it.
I´m new here so maybe this is a dumb question, but how did you get the first battry into the cargo crate at 7:15?
You dropped the first battery in front of the wall (second one was in Bosco´s hands), then drilled through the wall, and suddenly there already is a battery in the crate when you arrive, and Bosco has the second?? o.O
I noticed that too. I'm pretty sure I've never seen 3 batteries spawn, or one battery spawn in the crate. So I don't know how that happened
nvm I see it, there's a cut. If you look at his drill ammo or the mission timer they change as he goes through the dirt

Just spamming jump, steep slopes are super janky in this game, if its not vertical, you can climb it.
@@finntheviking5579 adding to this, try climbing the window in the space rig. it'll work the same way. then that little slide and hop he does can be done off the window. I heard somebody (possibly AxisKronos?) call it a window slide because of that. you press forward while facing down the slope, then hitting jump launches you off horizontally. it's super fun!

@@skii_mask_ yep, if you time it right, at the top of the window, a little slide and jump can land you on the catwalk next to the anti grav button.

Ice spear overlock on cryo cannon, freeze petorian + ice spear = dead petorian also is handy as a ranged attack vs pretty much anything can't laugh at 1k damage on something frozen.

It's nice to see full-auto Subata being used.
Heard some dude saying driller's the weakest for dreads compared to other classes, and having another gunner is better. Came here to witness dreads getting destroyed by a driller and to have a laugh at that fool for being wrong.

There was a patch that made axe cancelling slower so it might have not been around then

looking to try and improve in DRG andi've been trying to find how he deposits his inventory so quick. i assumed he was just spam clicking really fast to deposit the ores but when I tried it just wont let me do it fast at all. any help?
Spam click between deposit and your pickaxe; it can take some practice to do smoothly without interruptions, but not a lot once you can spam them back to back
is that an animation cancel on the deposit or something else. Trying to figure out what's going on there.

In the wiki it states that all the Dwarves use the same VA but at different pitches, Driller being the lowest

I only have a single 1000+ hours and still have not even bought any additional (driller) primary weapons. I love to crisp
Driller makes me sad, I really loved it at the beginning but when I got into higher hazards and ammo became a problem I realized how little I used my secondaries and that I didn't like any of them, it's definitely my fault for not using the drills, axes and secondary for damage more often but it feels kinda bad, I'll definitely give it another try after I get some overclocks for driller
If you utilize his cryo/sludge builds you should have no issues whatsoever with ammo economy. I run my EDDs with it and never have a problem. Only thing I differ from him is my flamethrower build. I use face melter OC and go damage, don’t like the full sticky flames build personally.

Yeah forgot to swap it over from the flame version, got distracted by t5 and forgot to swap it. Noticed it in post but eh, slowdown isn’t make or break for solo dreads

You should consider binding mousewheel up/down to a secondary jump so you can climb faster.

sounds good, ive seen a few doom 2016 and eternal speedrunners use this, can't speak for DRG however.
@@BlackWolfJa Depends on the missions you play more. It has more use while pipe riding (Hold E, use the b-hop wheel whenever you land, Sonic speed)
Other than that it just has some general use and a bit more quality of life, especially with environmental slowdowns.

How were you able to freeze things so quickly? It felt to me (when I replicated build) that it took more time to freeze enemies than I expected. Did you employ any kind of trick to freeze faster (like shooting ground and enemy at the same time or something)?

Question?: How did you throw the axe so fast? I can't seem to throw that fast
He's doing reload canceling with the axe's throws.
To be clear, animation canceling means he's interrupting one animation with another that ends faster. In this case, using his mining animation to interrupt the follow through of the axe throw.
At 7:17 there no batteries in the crate but suddenly one appears on it (presumably the one you were carrying), how does that happen?
Slow it down and you can see it was already in there from earlier.

CRISPR is a fantastic weapon. What are you talking about?
@@slamduncan4794 Man I agree, CRSPR is one of my favourites, especially with cooker out now, but I know Axis has said it's one of his least favourite weapons in the past surprised me to see that AND Subata, that's some dedication to the content!
Only issue I have with CRSPR is nothing seems to beat sticky flames at the moment, but haven't got too many OCs for it yet.
