I do actually appreciate the few Nuts and Bolts references in the Smash stage. Those being the design of Banjo’s house and the mountain itself with it being mountain like than how it was in any of the games before. My only complaints is that I wish the flying vegetables were still there. Oh well. The stage itself is insanely detailed. More than it should be honestly. It’s the best.
Yeah. I love how Spiral Mountain is more or less what was in the first game Banjo-Kazooie with some Banjo-Tooie and Banjo-Kazooie Nuts and Bolts bits and pieces sprinkled in(I bet that's what happened to Spiral Mountain after Banjo and Kazooie got the deeds to it, they restored it to it's original glory). ❤ And I agree with you on the floating veggies. I miss those guys. Certainly better than the mooks in Banjo-Tooie.
While we are observing spiral mountain's history, let's point out a continuity error. In tooie grunty's lair one eye that is still lite is on the left, where. Nuts a bolt's taking place in the future is on the right.
There's multiple inconsistencies with it. The house is it's own mess, with the entire kitchen and chimney being on the wrong side, and glitching in reveals even more wrong like the chair placement, not to mention the pathways outside the main map that otherwise make no sense as the duo have explored them since Tooie yet that was supposedly there all along. Granted, the Isle O' Hags isn't even on the same island as Spiral Mountain, but at least we know you can drill there.

The view from the top of Grunty’s old lair in nuts n bolts really puts into perspective just how far down Grunty fell at the end of Banjo Kazooie, and how hard she must have hit the ground lol

Rare stated it was in early development during the original Xbox console days with slight difference things changing up the levels in some ways but, eventually Rare scrapped all of it and chose to make a Banjo sequel and cancelled the conker sequel and did a Bad Fur Day remake instead.
Man, it is really obvious that the music that plays on the Spiral Mountain track in Banjo Pilot is a poorly reedited version of the Donkey Kong theme from back when the game was Diddy Kong Pilot.

As a child I kind of expected that Threeie would’ve taken place somewhere else. That the Banjo family would move after the destruction of Spiral mountain, leaving nothing but sad memories.
I still have to yet play this game. I remember playing a little bit at the McDonald’s N64 booth as a kid but that’s it lol. I plan on playing this soon though, hopefully.
It is Canon, saying that is like saying Breath of Wild Link is not Canon because Ultimate have Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword Stages, yet Link doesn't belong to any of these two games. They just used Banjo 1's Spiral Mountain because it's more recognizable, but there's still some stuff from Tooie in there, see the cavern on top of the waterfall, that only exists in Tooie, but it's represented in Ultimate too, i just wish they would have represented the Digger Tunnel Entrance too, it would've been so cool!

Not gonna lie, Smash's Spiral Mountain is great and all but Nuts and Bolts' version looks very gorgeous and kinda realistic. Especially when viewed in 4k.
If you paid attention, you would notice that in Banjo Kazooie, Spiral Mountain was a peaceful, beautiful landscape with hostile vegetables and rocks. Then in, Banjo Tooie, he was completely ransacked and full of Grunty’s monsters, as if it went through a war. Then in Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts, the remaining damage stayed there and more damage was added, and to top it off, Banjo, Kazooie and Grunty were the only inhabitants. All of this happened after Grunty fell off her tower in the first game. Did Banjo break the natural order or something?
I remember just trying to break through the rocks in nuts and bolts as a kid, just hoping there was a normal Banjo game and a return to Grunty hidden away

Man dude, if only we see them again, but the creator actually mentioned that he would love to do a remake, but all though he doesn’t work with rare anymore, but playtonic can do it, but I honestly just don’t think they can have agreement with rare, and if rare denies a new banjo game, they can just sell the franchise to activision, they already have crash and spyro, so why not banjo, it would be a perfect place for him, but playtonic games would’ve be a good home for banjo, but playtonic said they aren’t making a new banjo game, why, I have no idea, but there’s other studios that can most definitely do the job, there’s like toys for bob, there’s also even double fine that I think would be a perfect place for banjo, but I mean, anything is possible really
Grunty's Revenge looks far better than it has any reason to. It's not a great game by any means but it's definitely not as bad as a handheld N64 game could be. It's a shame Nintendo made no effort to hold onto the IP, because BK games on the DS and 3DS could've been fantastic.
Man, if Nuts and Bolts was released as a spin-off after they made an actual (good) Banjo-Threeie, nobody would hate on it. It was a good game with great humor, and priced at like $30 on release. I loved it. Anyways, I hate how gloomy Banjo-Tooie is. Even Spiral Mountain is depressing. Not a fan of it.
Realistically, it's because 3D platformers had fallen out of favor. Sometimes this genre was called "collectathon" and when K&B came out, that label was shorthand for "poorly designed shovelware with little player motivation". The entire genre had a reputation for being unfun and outdated. People wanted the dose of nostalgia but wouldn't have tolerated spending money for game design that was 2 console generations old. At the time, releasing a game in the same style as the first 2 would have ensured that Rare never released another game. People just couldn't be bothered to wander around a static level looking for 1000 shiny things. Imagine if they tried to sell us Tic-Tac-Toe for $60 a piece... that was basically the attitude at the time.

Man dude, if only we see them again, but the creator actually mentioned that he would love to do a remake, but all though he doesn’t work with rare anymore, but playtonic can do it, but I honestly just don’t think they can have agreement with rare, and if rare denies a new banjo game, they can just sell the franchise to activision, they already have crash and spyro, so why not banjo, it would be a perfect place for him, but playtonic games would’ve be a good home for banjo, but playtonic said they aren’t making a new banjo game, why, I have no idea, but there’s other studios that can most definitely do the job, there’s like toys for bob, there’s also even double fine that I think would be a perfect place for banjo, but I mean, anything is possible really
Grunty's Revenge looks far better than it has any reason to. It's not a great game by any means but it's definitely not as bad as a handheld N64 game could be. It's a shame Nintendo made no effort to hold onto the IP, because BK games on the DS and 3DS could've been fantastic.
Man, if Nuts and Bolts was released as a spin-off after they made an actual (good) Banjo-Threeie, nobody would hate on it. It was a good game with great humor, and priced at like $30 on release. I loved it.
Anyways, I hate how gloomy Banjo-Tooie is. Even Spiral Mountain is depressing. Not a fan of it.

Realistically, it's because 3D platformers had fallen out of favor. Sometimes this genre was called "collectathon" and when K&B came out, that label was shorthand for "poorly designed shovelware with little player motivation". The entire genre had a reputation for being unfun and outdated. People wanted the dose of nostalgia but wouldn't have tolerated spending money for game design that was 2 console generations old.
At the time, releasing a game in the same style as the first 2 would have ensured that Rare never released another game. People just couldn't be bothered to wander around a static level looking for 1000 shiny things. Imagine if they tried to sell us Tic-Tac-Toe for $60 a piece... that was basically the attitude at the time.

The game is Super Smash Bros. Ultimate; it came out last December for the Switch. And yes Banjo-Kazooie is in it as DLC.
