I can not understand as they are able to judge who is better than another and who will be the successors of Perlman or Zuckermann, I think they are all fantastic and unique - Repin - Vengerov, Shaham, Bell, enjoy its gifts and not to compare them, PLEASE
They are and they were all fantastic and unique , for sure , but same as some legendary sportsmen , some have longer stamina , some have less . Therefore , Repin finished his stamina very fast. Of course in music , same as sports you can develop different qualities during the years , things that you can see at Shaham , Vengerov and specially at Zuckermann, who is outstanding to hear and watch when he is in his 70’ . A 70 old Zuckerman plays undoubtedly better then a much younger Repin . Unfortunately whenever you watch Repin playing it is like you are watching a very stressed out player , he has no comfort in both execution and emotion , he is just praying that everything it ends soon . He was at the very high level , but something must have gone wrong for him , because he dropped the most compared to all the other legends mentioned in the comments . There is another legend that no one mentioned about , Frank Peter Zimmerman , which again kept a high level throughout the years.

There was a time it seemed like Vengerov and Repin were going to be the heir apparents to Perlman and Zukerman. Sure, Shaham and Bell were also in the mix. But, if not for injury, it seems that only Vengerov would be the successor along with Shaham and Bell. Is this not true? I still recall seeing the young pudgy violinist take on the Tchaikovsky Concerto 20+ years ago and being in awe.
If you are going to judge artists by their motion (which has nothing to do with their ability to play or be musicians), than what you are saying is you can get past the cover of the book before deciding whether you like what is inside the book.

Well, I for one, cannot disagree more. I regard Repin much, much higher then Vengerov. To start with, I can at least look at Repin without big pain.
