Everyone is an audience, and everyone is a performer. That's not only why Perfect Blue is terrifying, but why it's more terrifying than it's ever been.
can we just talk about how much detail there is in that picture like.. the stuffed animals from her room the telephone the pills the photos of her and her friends in CHAM the way her shoulders are becoming transparent and how it seems like she's looking at you no matter where you're looking at the picture from there's loads more
Exactly 💯 I've sketch this picture almost a year ago and trust me it took me like 2 days to complete it. Hat's off to Satoshi Kon sir for his so ever ethereal work ✨️✨️🥲
I found it soothing and depressing. and yes in some sense it feels hypnotizing, like u are disconnected from reality in a different world with some unknown person or entity, talking to you, staring at you, scaring you. I haven't watched this movie yet, but after this ost I'm going to watch it.
It miiiight have something to do with the fact that Silent Hill is a game filled to the brim with nostalgia, it's still genuinely creepy, and it revolutionized gaming as a whole, and one of it's main aspects was the music.
While this track could definitely fit in a Silent Hill game, the older OST’s were more industrial/dark ambient/alternative/trip-hop/downtempo with not a whole lot in the way of vocal samples. But what this DOES remind me of (somewhat) are certain tracks from Forbidden Siren 1 and 2, which do make heavy use of distressing, almost animalistic vocals found here. Great stuff, those albums.
victor hugo mercado leon, I may only offer you the soundtrack from anime Akira "Dolls Polyphony". Recommend you to hear it, cause it's kinda irresistible, varie and particular.

The score to Perfect Blue is sooo disturbing. I love it!

Almost sounds like the humming is reversed
I LOVE this. This is haunting and I haven't been able to say that in a long time.
I agree, this is like very haunting yet beautiful in the same exact time.

Insanity in sound. Many producers of physiological anime actually went to interview people with the illnesses that they portray.
Who knows other melodies like this?
