A quick breakdown of One Piece. The series is comprised of two parts with a 2 year time skip in between. Each part is comprised of mostly stand alone story lines called sagas and each saga is comprised of smaller arcs that slowly build up to the saga's conclusion. For instance the first saga of part 1 is the East Blue saga. The storyline of this saga is Luffy the main character setting out on his journey to find the One Piece and become King of the Pirates. Along the way he gets a proper ship and recruits people into his crew. The saga is comprised of 8 arcs which last a total of 61 episodes. In each arc Luffy either recruits a new crew member by the end or meets a new long running villain. The Saga concludes with Luffy traveling to the Grandline which is the part of the ocean where the journey to find the One Piece begins.
the first arc is roughly 50 episodes. Thats what the live action covers. just to answer your question. I still think reacting to the live action would be a all round net positive for you.
After the 18th ending, they stopped making more endings. Instead they increased the duration of the openings to make up the air time. But after a decade they finally gave us another ending. Also, before you get too criticized for it, Luffy is pronounced 'Looffy'.
I only recently found out that they haven't been making endings at all. I started watching simulcast fansubs around Water7 when Kaizoku Fansubs were falling behind in their DVD rips and have been thinking for the last 10 or so years that the live-aired version was missing the ending and that a DVD/BR rip would have them.
20:55 One Piece is based of arcs and Sagas. Multiple arcs makes 1 saga. Saga is equivalent to seasons. Normally every arc is a different island except a few exceptions were they revisit some places. Here are the lengths of One Piece arcs (No spoilers): Saga 1 Arc 01: ep 1-4 Arc 02: ep 5-10 Arc 03: ep 11-19 Arc 04: ep 20-30 (It gets real good from here) Arc 05: ep 30-41 (One of the best starting arcs) Arc 06: ep 41-53 Saga 2 Arc 07: ep 61-62 Arc 08: ep 64-67 Arc 09: ep 70-77 Arc 10: ep 78-91 Arc 11: ep 92 - 130 Saga 3 Arc 12: ep 144 - 152 Arc 13: ep 153 - 195 Arc 14: ep 207 - 219 Saga 4 Arc 15: ep 229 - 263 Arc 16: ep 264 - 312 Arc 17: ep 313 - 325 Saga 5 Arc 18: ep 337 - 381 Arc 19: ep 385 - 405 Arc 20: ep 408 - 421 Arc 21: ep 422 - 452 Arc 22: ep 457 - 489 Arc 23: ep 490 - 516 Saga 6 Arc 24: ep 517 - 522 Arc 25: ep 523 - 574 Saga 8 Arc 26: ep 579 - 625 Arc 27: ep 629 - 746 Saga 9 Arc 28: ep 751 - 782 Arc 29: ep 783 - 877 Arc 30: ep 878 - 889 Saga 10 Arc 31: ep 890 - 976 Arc 32: ep 977 - Current
Luke, as for the first arc - it's not a simple question because at the beginning of the series, there were like 3 episodes arcs. So I'd assume that 1st major arc is the arc of East blue (1-53ep). If you skip openings, endings, and repeats of the last episodes, each episode will take you about 19-20 minutes. 19min * 53 eps = ~17 hours. I guess you can do it in 3 long streams (6-7 hours) or 4-5 normal streams :) Like the comment to highlight, pls.
Only thing I'd correct is calling it an "arc". It's a Saga, achtually🤓. One Piece is basically collections of arcs that form a "Saga". East Blue Saga is 61 episodes according to the Wiki. But I assume thats including filler episodes, which most (but not all!) could be skipped. Loguetown filler episode, for example, is an episode the author wished he had time to include into the Manga, but couldn't. So the Anime did it for him.
@@visoth7791 yeah, I purposely avoid fillers after Loguetown and keep that were inside Agree about Saga, used arc to make it easier for Luke to understand ✌️
The majority of One Piece endings are front loaded in the first half of the anime, which is why they don't seem to progress much in terms of animation and art style. After a certain point, they stopped doing endings for the anime and only did new openings (with a few exceptions like the newest one by Chili Beans).
Can we get a petition to get Luke to watch One Piece up until the end of the East Blue Saga ? At that point he can decide if he should take a break or not but he absolutely MUST react to the first saga cause its just SOOO good..
@@GOTGames YES PLEASE DO IT ! you won't regret it. It's an actual finishing point where you have a lot of room to take a break if you wish to .. And it's only 50 episodes !!
My favourite ending, to this day, is the second one. Even though not nearly everyone is present it's so full of energy and excitement and so much life that I can't stop myself from smiling every time I see it.
8:35 No, many pirates are looking for it, but not all of them. Some are not interested, some thinks it is not real, some have different goals. It is also not about only pirates, we see many people like militaries, swordsman, snipers, engineers etc
One Piece stopped doing endings at around 270 episodes I think. They just recently started doing them again with ending 19 and I hope they'll continue. As for you watching the live action, there is one thing that they put in that isn't revealed in the anime or manga until a little after the 300 episode or chapter mark. I absolutely loved the live action but if you're okay with starting the anime first then do that. The reason why i'm saying this is because Usopp, the long-nosed character, was pretty sidelined in the LA during his introduction arc so you aren't really given much of a connection to him. They also removed some small things and characters that I personally think are worth knowing about. If you do watch the live action first I'd recommend watching the anime from ep 1 just to see what was changed or removed. Answering your question about how long it'll take to finish the first arc. The East Blue saga is 54 episodes long and 61 I think if you include filler. In this arc you have The introduction, Shells Town, Orange Town, Syrup Village ( I think), Baratie, Arlong Park, a mini arc, a filler arc (you don't need to watch this arc), and then Logue Town. I may have mixed something up so anyone please correct it.
nah you got the arc list correct its all good. But yeah if he doesnt mind spoilers from episode 313 I think the LA is a good way to be introduced to the series if he wants to do it that way. If he did he could go back and see the actual story thru the anime. If he chooses the anime route it would be the other way around until he reached the 300s. I would be fine with either way but in the end its up to what Luke wants to do.
It is a water world full of unique islands, so while they may travel on the water that takes more of a backseat to exploring each new island. Islands have their own culture, politics, nature, etc. so it is always interesting to see just how different each arc will be. There are even underwater islands and sky islands.
12:50 in anime, manga, and storytelling in general, an "arc" is comprised of an entire chapter of a story, start to finish. Arcs are usually named after the part of the story they're telling...or more commonly in One Piece's case, the location the story takes place in (for example, Dressrosa Arc, Fishman Island Arc, Wanokuni Arc). the arcs in One Piece vary wildly in length but can each be viewed separately as a self-contained piece of the story. another example of this is Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 which has the first 5 episodes labeled "Hidden Inventory" or the Hidden Inventory Arc. the next episodes are labeled "Shibuya Incident," or the Shibuya Incident Arc. since the story of JJK is pretty concise, multiple arcs can exist in one season. One Piece just never started using seasons, simply because it is so long that a single arc would eat up several seasons.
And last comment on this: There is a HUGE gap of time where One Piece didn't even HAVE an ending. They just went without one for years. The new one literally came as a surprise to fans, since we didn't have one for so long.
12:35 the majority of the story is actually on land, one piece is more about the world, the islands and what is going on the individual islands as well as the world as a whole. there are important navigating scenes, but they are either between arcs or specific clutch moments. In fact, on longer arcs the crew stays up to 100 episodes on a single island.
water 7 to enies lobby arc was a huge upheavel in emotional content, All sorts of tearful moments, sad moments, horrible things and badass things happening side by side, it was emotionally overwhelming. This is why there was suddenly such a huge mellow shift in Endings, especially the 17th one with Robin, makes me cry when she looks at strawhats playing around in flower garden. By the end of Enies lobby you'd have teared up multiple times, story was too good. Truly Peak of that era. Its such a beautiful experience.
Also, just gonna say: I can not wait for you to eventually react to this absolute masterpiece of a story. And the Live Action reaction would at least give you a general idea of the world, and since that's way more doable, DO it. As for the idea for tuesday streams: The first arc (Romance Dawn) is only the first 4 Episodes. The entire first Saga, being the East Blue saga, consisting of 7 arcs, and being covered for the most part by the live action, is 47 episodes. You can probably look at arc lists on a wiki without spoiling anything for you, so try planning that out as you will.
If i were to make a suggestion, I would say you should watch Episodes 1 to 30. This will include the early introductory episodes of one piece and ends with Baratie Arc. This should give you a taste of both the good and the bad (there are some episodes in there that dragged a bit) of the series and then you can make an informed decision. Others suggested the whole East Blue Saga which ends by episode 53. Its a lot more episodes but its also a good spot to stop and look back ahead of the long journey.
The One Piece Anime has shorter and longer arcs, its very random. So if you were to spend 8 hours a month watching One Piece, that would be basically 24 episodes worth (probably less, because you spend time inbetween episodes thanking subs/chatting). 20 minutes per episode = 3 episodes per hour = 24 episodes per 8 hours. People consider getting through the first "saga" of One Piece as the "test" of whether you will like the series or not. The first Saga is the East Blue saga and has 61 episodes (including filler, I believe). So it would take possibly 3 months at that rate to get through East Blue. Some people get "hooked" on One Piece after the first 20 episodes. Others (like me) it took until ~episode 40. So if you could make it to the Arlong Park arc (episode 44) in two streams, I think it would be very worth doing. I totally would tune in each Tuesday to watch along.
No shit, I saw that episode like 15 years ago, i was still in college by then. I thought I am ok now. No, turn out I still cry when I hear it. I guess I will never recover from it.
Would love to see you react to the One Piece strawhat group songs such as ‘‘Family’’, “A Thousand Dreamers”, and “Hi! Ho! Ready Go!”! They are incredible and super catchy :D
Memories OP Ending 1 always makes me cry specially their Departure in Alabasta 😭🥺🥺 i hope Vivi will join the Strawhats soon since WG is targeting her right now.
Honestly, Luke, I'd love for you to react to the live action, but the problem with that is that the live action does have some spoilers for stuff much much later in the anime/manga.
One Piece is divided into Sagas, which are composed of smaller arcs. The arcs get longer later on, but for the first 2 sagas, you've 5-6 arcs composed of maybe 2-6 episodes at most. Saga/Season 1 is 53 episodes, so at roughly 24 minutes each, you're looking at 21 hours and 12 minutes to get through. If we say an episode is roughly 22min without the OPs or EDs, you'd finish in 19 hours and 26 minutes. So 4 hour streams (nonstop/back-to-back episodes) would have you at 4-5 Tuesdays for 53 episodes.
4:21 You've seen "the Breathtaking World of One Piece", full of all its anachronisms and different technology and cultures. A fridge? A fridge is one of the least atypical things on that ship. The world of One Piece is huge, and varied. Its technology can range from cavemen rubbing sticks together to make fire, to some places and people having future tech beyond even ours. "Monogatari" means story. One Piece HAS darkness, but its tone isn't dominated by darkness. It's a comedy action/adventure, emphasis on "adventure" in that. Darkness punctuates the story, sells the stakes, and makes the evils at play that much more pronounced, but they're on an adventure at sea to follow their dreams and find the greatest treasure the world has ever seen. THE epitomy of "it's the journey, not the destination". A lesser storyteller wouldn't be able to put an honest to god slave trade in a story like this and not have it clash with the tone, but like Fullmetal, the brighter, funnier comedy/adventure moments makes the crash down to soul crushing darkness all the more meaningful, and makes the rise back out of the darkness into the light all that much more triumphant. While it's good from the very start, there's a point in the first major arc where you'll go from someone watching One Piece, to a FAN of One Piece, and it's usually the same point for everyone. One Piece is LONG, and while sometimes that means it's slow going in terms of plot progression, it also means that, being as long as it is, it can really build up to the big moments. Some of the biggest moments in the show don't happen until like 480 something episodes in, and until that point, it'll be hard to believe me if I say "you haven't seen anything yet", because the entire journey preceding those 480 episodes are some of the best entertainment you'll find anywhere. Not as concise and tightly written as Attack on Titan or Fullmetal Alchemist, but while it has some lower lows than those 2, its highs are nigh untouchable. Some of the most legendary storytelling in the world, in or out of the medium. There are things you will cry about (WILL cry about this is not a guess, it is a statement of fact) that'll surprise you while it's happening, and I can't even hint at it because it needs to hit as hard as it can for the best experience. Like "am I SERIOUSLY crying about this? WHY? HOW DID ODA MANAGE TO MAKE ME CRY ABOUT THIS?!"
13:00 DVDs are cut into episodes. Usually 4 or 5 episodes per DVD. Blu-ray and Blu-ray BOXes have way more episodes because way more discs. It neither cut in arcs nor seasons. However, streaming sites will say there are seasons, when One Piece isn't a seasonal anime, it's a river anime. Except some break weeks (New Year, Sportsdays), COVID big break in 2020 and Toei hacking big break in 2022, One Piece has been broadcasted each Wednesday from October 20, 1999 to March 21, 2001, and all Sundays since April 15, 2001 and it still goes on the present day. It's kinda like Kamen Rider. Since January 30, 2000, it only took a week break or two per year and it still goes on.
One Pace would be the most reasonable way to do it in my opinion if you plan on posting it on youtube Edit: One pace is a version of one piece that removes all non-canon scenes, and its half as long as the regular anime
OP had 1:50 openings and 1:10 endings at first, then they kept shortening the endings as the openings got longer, to the point that for 10 years they had no endings. Now they have one again.
The East Blue Saga is the first part of the story, and is generally considered a prologue to the rest of the series. It is 61 episodes long in the anime, 100 chapters long in the manga, and the live action (which is actually Really Good) is eight almost-an-hour long episodes, though it doesn't technically finish the East Blue.
12:50 since its airing pretty much non-stop for over 20 years, its never been a seasonal anime where seasons are released with 12 or 24 episodes then pauses for some months to be produced. arcs vary from 30 to over 100 episodes long and each is very identifiable with a few or a single word, so its natural to anyone who watched it.
Start with the live action, it cover the first saga, and it kept the feeling of the show quite nicely. It will give you a sense if you will like it or not. And it is only 8 eps. The anime is really slow in the beginning and it take you at least 70 episodes to get into it. The best part about the live action is you will still have reason to watch the anime for the first saga after the live action. The life action is great as keep it still interesting to watch the anime, because they just make enough changes to not be the same but kept the same energy.
The plants are tangerine trees from Nami's (the redhead girl) home island. Both cause she loves tangerines, and cause you need a solid source of Vit C to combat Scurvy
The first part of One Piece is the East Blue Saga, this consists of 7 arcs (1 arc is filler though). In order is Romance Dawn Arc which is 4 episodes, then Orange Town Arc which is 5 episodes, next is Syrup Village Arc which is 10 episodes, Baratie Arc is next with 12 episodes, Arlong Park Arc (arguably the best and most important Arc of the East Blue Saga) this is 14 episodes long, then Loguetown Arc which is 7 episodes and finally is Warship Island Arc (the filler) which is 8 episodes. The entirety of the East Blue Saga is 61 episodes, 53 if you don't watch the filler. For the most part a vast majority of the filler isn't that good save for 1 particular Arc right after the Skypiea Arc. FYI after the East Blue Saga the Arcs become much longer in scope and the pretty much ditch the Saga thing for the most part.
If you want to check the first "arc" I'd recommend watching the "One Pace" version it's a project that edited the original anime to fix the horrible weekly pace it had. And if we call "Arc of east blue" as the first arc, it would take around... 36 episodes.
Almost all longer anime is based on arcs. Some shows (like demon slayer) separate their seasons to be their arcs. Aot did this too to an extent, although neither are that long. For example, imagine if aot is 5-10x longer (since that’s the longest anime I believe you watched) and instead of referring to them as s1,2,3,4, they’re called the cadet core arc, the battle of trost arc, the female titan arc, the civil war arc, the reclaiming of shiganshina, etc. it’s easier to do when some arcs are 40 episodes long, some are 6, and some are 150 (not an exaggeration lol). One piece is so massive that there’s various sagas as well that each contain several arcs. This is what the one piece “seasons” are generally separated into. If you ever watch an anime that’s quite large, this will become pretty natural and make more sense and I’m sure people in the comments will refer to various arcs as well
all the endings so touch my heart.. reminds me a beautiful childhood memory. shinning ray by Janne D Arc, is my favorite.. the vocalist Yasu have a magical voice
When he press play and "Memories" hit you hard. If the Live Action added it for their ending it would have been mind blowing. Recommandation: Air Gear OP Eyeshield21 Tower of God Btooom! Tokyo Raven The Misfit Of Demon King Academy Gakusen Toshi Asterisk Hunter X Hunter 1999 Re Hamatora Accel World Sword art online Ordinal Scale Ost Rave Master Final Fantasy 15 Somnus 100-man no Inochi Dororo Watamote Nobunagun Mushibugyô The irregular at magic Highschool Kekkaishi Op/End + ost A will Eternal op + The ost TÌNH TƯ (This one is quite different from what you do generaly since it's chinese.)
22:08 the one piece is way more than just riches, it has alot of important secrets that would shake the whole world, the forgotten history of a whole century, as well as some very important information regarding very important topics of the world.
The first ending (Memories) is my favorite ending of all animes with Hyori Ittai from HxH. And if they don't use it at the real end of the anime, I will be very very very disappointed.
For One Piece, the series is separated into arcs and sagas. A saga is a collection of arcs that are interconnected. First Saga is Romance Dawn, which is essentially the prologue of One Piece that leads into the journey to the Grand Line, focused primarily on an overall introduction to the series as well as the gathering of the first crewmates.
You could say that One Piece world is heavily inspired by the time when the Europeans set out to find the New World but it has a mixed bag of tech as some is pretty old and dated to our standards but also has futuristic tech we don´t have, it also depends from place to place as some places are inspired by old villages/settlements and some by modern society.
i haven't seen the new ending yet, but my favorite of the other endings is probably memories. it's just so nostalgic and emotional. i love the simple visuals of the strawhats watching the sun setting on the ocean and the song is so beautiful whether you listen to the original version or Brina Palencia's english version. it also doesn't help that a slower more emotional version of the song played during a huge scene in the Whole Cake Island arc. there's also the ending for the one piece special movie skypeia, the song is technically the 20th opening but it's special because they put the singer in the ending. Hope was basically her last project before retiring from music, so as a thank you to her for Hope and Fight Together (op 14), she got her own one piece character and was animated hanging out with the strawhats.
In one piece you could see seasons as sagas, the live action covers the east blue saga, each saga has arcs but some of those could be very short. East Blue Saga, Ep : 51 (without fillers) Romance Dawn arc, Ep: 3 Orange Town arc, Ep: 5 Syrup Village arc, Ep: 10 Baratie arc, Ep: 12 Arlong Park arc, Ep: 14 Loguetown arc, Ep: 7
Oh god, its been years since i heard most of these and I have had them play in my head for just as long without remembering where they came from, it was driving my crazy but now i know
12:55 let us just say it is the great pirate era👍 Also it's not that confusing we just go by the number of the episode consistently, it's better like that for longer running shows such as one piece and naruto, seasons should be counted for shorter shows such as KonoSuba or SPY X FAMILY. Becouse after all an ARC could last well beyond the span of a season, for example the current running arc has been running since 2019 up until now,it hase around 200 episodes(tho it's the longest arc out of all).
The live action is pretty good, you can watch it if you want. There is one thing that is revealed within that isnt revealed in the anime until about like 300 episodes in or so.
I’m happy with any plan that gets you watching One Piece sooner, in any form! I think you’ll really love the story of One Piece, with all its hilarity, emotion, and epic/fun fights. Since the live action aired, I’ve seen people do either binging the first saga of the anime before the live action, or going into the live action first and loving it so much they go into the anime. Just take the dive either way! I promise the journey will be worth it!
It’s worth pointing out that a season and a narrative arc are two different things. It’s just easier to go by arcs because they are each their own story. For example One Piece season 1 has seven arcs in it and six of them are canon.
Old eds like in One piece could be just a minute long but they are typically mins thirty like opening. After a while, they just stopped using the eds and made the openings 2 mins 30 secs. The 22nd opening was 2 mins instead and then very recently, we got a brand new ending which shortened op 24 into a min 30 version.
We don't know what exactly the One Piece is. While the death of the Pirate King Gold Roger revealing the One Piece treasure started the great pirate age... Most pirates quickly give up on the goal of finding the One Piece once they see just how difficult finding it is. Not to mention all the insurmountable obstacles and stronger pirates searching for it. Only the top of the top pirates have any chance of finding the One Piece and the World Government also tries to thwart anyone pursuing the One Piece.
I've seen a lot of people recently reacting to One Piece for the first time with the Live Action, and they loved it. It does a great job retelling the same story as the Anime, while also using some creative freedom to mix things up a bit. There's a lot of new fans that started watching the Anime after the live action, and I think that's pretty impressive. It's hard to say for sure if you should start with the live action instead of the Anime, but as a huge fan of One Piece I think it's fine to do that. (Ideally you can watch the Anime from the beginning also, and compare them to each other). 👍
The first Arc is what people would say is The East Blue though it's technically a saga. If you don't want to go through all of that I would recommend at least getting all the way through Arlong Park to see if it's an anime for you, it's one of the most loved arcs in the series.
The thing that happens when a reactor watches One Piece is just that they get so engrossed in the story that they become part of the community so hope to see you board the Pirate King crew, Nakama
Just the ED 1 could make me cry. Damn. These early EDs hit... And when you finally watch One Piece, you better didn't skip the OPs and EDs. Also, all of your question will be answered when you watch the Anime. 😋
Starting with the Live Action is a decent place to start. It has the same emotional beats but differs slightly than the manga and the anime, so those will add more to your experience if you decide to react to those eventually. I will say we are entering the final saga in the manga right now so the sooner you start the better. There is no better time to be a One Piece fan than right now. OP will make you feel like a kid again, and then will sucker punch you with emotion and make you laugh in the same minute. It's quite the phenomena!

First saga of One Piece, East Blue saga, is episodes 1-61. The blue haired girl is from the second saga.
I would say start with the live action because it is good then the anime live-streamed and uploaded to GoT Extras.
Around 64 episodes

Oooo thank you for this!!! 👀👀
Some mistakes but thank you for your hard work anyways
I did not plan on crying today but then Memories (ed 1) started playing and now here I am sobbing.
That and "Free Will". The nostalgia hit me so hard
It is a beautiful song! Must hit different once you've seen the anime as well 🥹
@@GOTGamesyes!!... it was used in some iconic moments and the lyrics are great... ah, nostalgia🤧
Ep 808 HEAVY CRIESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
"I did not plan on crying today"
Famous last words before watching a one piece episode
Hearing Maki Otsuki's "Memories" (ED 1) after 1076 episodes really hits different, it takes you WAYY back to where it all begins, i got goosebumps.
It made me cry ngl
bro this one gets me every time too@@vinne6312
Me too..the best 😊
The first Ed is so good and they even play it in some special moments in the anime and that shit hits like a truck every time. Such a nostalgic song
I started one piece when im 7. Now im 20 and hearing them again really bring back those memories
You are actually right, these pictures in the last ending are the pictures of the young fans that they sent to Oda (author of One Piece)!
🤯
Luke, as for the first arc - it's not a simple question because at the beginning of the series, there were like 3 episodes arcs. So I'd assume that 1st major arc is the arc of East blue (1-53ep). If you skip openings, endings, and repeats of the last episodes, each episode will take you about 19-20 minutes. 19min * 53 eps = ~17 hours.
I guess you can do it in 3 long streams (6-7 hours) or 4-5 normal streams :)
Like the comment to highlight, pls.
@@visoth7791 yeah, I purposely avoid fillers after Loguetown and keep that were inside
Agree about Saga, used arc to make it easier for Luke to understand ✌️
@@smthspshl The G8 filler arc is really good as well.
Hmm okay!! I appreciate the info! Definitely food for thought 🤔
1-61 is the 1st Saga (made up of arcs)
The majority of One Piece endings are front loaded in the first half of the anime, which is why they don't seem to progress much in terms of animation and art style. After a certain point, they stopped doing endings for the anime and only did new openings (with a few exceptions like the newest one by Chili Beans).
And they started to make new endings only after 1071 ep, ending #20 now the only one new enging
Lol I didn't even notice that, you opened my eyes
Ah okay!
@@smthspshl You mean 19
Can we get a petition to get Luke to watch One Piece up until the end of the East Blue Saga ? At that point he can decide if he should take a break or not but he absolutely MUST react to the first saga cause its just SOOO good..
I think a first saga reaction could be something we could do...
Ah okay! Was wondering!
don't forget the musicians. Yohohohoho 💀
Falling in love with One Piece requires a little patience, but it's worth it! Once you like this show, you will think there are too few episodes!
The best way to watch One Piece is to take your time and enjoy the journey, no need to rush to catch up.
I think if I do that, a first arc could be pretty easy to do 🤔
One Piece stopped doing endings at around 270 episodes I think.
26:45
every single time hearing this intro, tears come out from nowhere
You not alone man..
Ah, if you only knew how many times One Piece has made me cry to the point where even the most agitated and happy endings still leave me emotional
Ed 1 is always be my favorite it's like we are the opening and when it plays in the anime after years later it hits so much with emotion 🥲❤️
It is a water world full of unique islands, so while they may travel on the water that takes more of a backseat to exploring each new island. Islands have their own culture, politics, nature, etc. so it is always interesting to see just how different each arc will be. There are even underwater islands and sky islands.
Last bit was spoilers.
@@terastrasza7421 He has reacted to the breathtaking world of One Piece video which shows them. He even points it out.
@@Krawbs Shame for that, but Spoilers is kinda unavoidable for once piece, unless you swear off youtube or something.
Ah okay! So the islands take more of the front stage? 🤔
@@GOTGames There are times the crazy ocean events and creatures play roles in arcs, but usually it is transitional stuff between each new island.
30:55 these art pieces were made by Children that were Fans of the series back then
And last comment on this: There is a HUGE gap of time where One Piece didn't even HAVE an ending. They just went without one for years. The new one literally came as a surprise to fans, since we didn't have one for so long.
I can't take eternal pose serious after seeing all the aokiji vs akainu memes
My favorite ending is Shining Ray by Janne da Arc. I'm a bit biased because I just love that band. The first ending is very iconic.
12:37 one piece using an arc, due to the length of the journey
Imagine hearing the 1st ending during a really emotional scene in an episode 960+ episodes later... that shit hit so hard. The nostalgia was 10/10
16:50 bro saw his entire career flash before his eyes 😂
Also, just gonna say: I can not wait for you to eventually react to this absolute masterpiece of a story. And the Live Action reaction would at least give you a general idea of the world, and since that's way more doable, DO it.
As for the idea for tuesday streams: The first arc (Romance Dawn) is only the first 4 Episodes. The entire first Saga, being the East Blue saga, consisting of 7 arcs, and being covered for the most part by the live action, is 47 episodes. You can probably look at arc lists on a wiki without spoiling anything for you, so try planning that out as you will.
That first ending just screams nostalgia.
Btw, loved the portuguese subtitles. 🤣
When they play the first ending during special moments in the episode, it made me cry.
26:50 You're right. Dear Friends was a really emotional track and was played during a very emotional scene in the anime.
Seconded. The One Piece group songs are wonderful. I also love the solo songs especially Usopp's and Sanji's.
OH YASSSSSSSSSS
Every ending song with Robin is the best. I love them all! I LOVE ROBIN!! 😍
Memories OP Ending 1 always makes me cry specially their Departure in Alabasta 😭🥺🥺 i hope Vivi will join the Strawhats soon since WG is targeting her right now.
Please, react to the live action!! They changed a lot but still got the main plot points and really captured the soul of the One Piece!
Honestly, Luke, I'd love for you to react to the live action, but the problem with that is that the live action does have some spoilers for stuff much much later in the anime/manga.
yeah, a little mad at them for that
It spoils nothing really significant. Stop over-exaggerating it
what did it spoil? I didn't see any.
If it's about Garp, it doesn't really doesn't change anything.
oda approve so its not big deal maybe?
🤔
The first ending coming back at the end of ep 808 was so clevery soul CRUSHING it left me in shambles a sobbing mess
Those who watch OnePiece usually post 2 videos a week, each video with 2 or 3 edited episodes, and the full reaction on patreon
The reindeer uses steroids
Anyone hear Luke make the transponder Snail sound? 🤣🤣🤣And he does it perfectly 😂😂😂
I was just looking for this comment. Yes, I heard it too.
The blue haired girl and the duck are temporary additions to the crew
You actually listened to 18 endings their. The only new ending is the 19th one. They stopped doing endings but recently came back after 17 years.
I really love the ending Eternal Pose. It’s very nostalgic since I was watching one piece night to night on toonami when this one was playing
God. Ed 1 is a throwback. Stuck in my head all over again
One Pace would be the most reasonable way to do it in my opinion if you plan on posting it on youtube
Edit: One pace is a version of one piece that removes all non-canon scenes, and its half as long as the regular anime
OP had 1:50 openings and 1:10 endings at first, then they kept shortening the endings as the openings got longer, to the point that for 10 years they had no endings.
Now they have one again.
luke you miss the last ending, it's come out like.. one month ago
There is an Ending 19 that just recently came out! You should check it out! They stopped doing endings for 17 years but now they are back :)
My fav OP endings are the 1st one -Memories (nostalgic) and last one - Raise (beautiful)
After so long i forgot One Piece had endings. They stopped for so long. Opening were so memorable than the endings
Please react to SAINT SEIYA openings, it's amazing and a classic.
Was going to post something similar.
The live action will be a good dip of the toe for the world of One Piece.
Also I love how all the videos he watched in this video has subtitles in Portuguese hahaha
When he press play and "Memories" hit you hard. If the Live Action added it for their ending it would have been mind blowing.

Interesting fact: the most of endings (and somewhere in OPs too) they use manga chapter cover pictures as a base for endings' plot
You should react to asobi asobase ending full song, it will blow your mind

12:55 let us just say it is the great pirate era👍
Also it's not that confusing we just go by the number of the episode consistently, it's better like that for longer running shows such as one piece and naruto, seasons should be counted for shorter shows such as KonoSuba or SPY X FAMILY.

Oh💀
These are the short ones, from the anime. Longer versions usually have musical videos.
i started watching one piece a week ago and now im in episode 425 during this short period :)
It’s worth pointing out that a season and a narrative arc are two different things. It’s just easier to go by arcs because they are each their own story. For example One Piece season 1 has seven arcs in it and six of them are canon.
One piece has the most matured storyline from the beginning. Forever ❤
Diving bells are still actually used, they just look quite different from the original.

Also just saying when you notice that there’s a shift in the emotion during that arc I have never cried so much in any other ark I’ve seen
