Have a good first year in secondary I have just finished my first year and I had a great time sure you will too❤❤❤
If anyone is going to high school here are some of my tips/advice :
*enjoy year 7-9, still work hard but after those 3 years everything is gcse related
*try not to fall out with people, those 5 school years go so quick and it’s not worth arguing about silly things
*dont be cocky and rude to people it’s not cool, be kind to everyone always!
*if school affects your mental health, talk to someone! Don’t bottle your feelings up! It will get better!
*if your getting a handbag, get one with sturdy handles, i’ve seen several bag handles snap
*if you like a peice of stationary, don’t share it, it might sound selfish not sharing but most times you won’t get it back, unless it’s a friend or someone you trust
*i wouldn’t spend much on a pencil case either, i never used mine i just put everything in my blazer (careful your pens don’t explode though)
*if your lost don’t worry, first week everyone struggles,after that you’ll roughly know your timetable and room number. Ask a random teacher if your lost, some pupils might send you too the wrong room (horrible but it is common), if there’s no teacher just ask someone random they’ll help.
*Dont worry about being late, teachers know it’s hard on the first few weeks, you won’t get shouted at!
*Most of all have fun and be kind always, people recognise manners and kindness more than anything!
*Snap in half rulers shatter quite easily!
*Heres what i actually use in my school day and what i think is the bare minimum you need: 2 pens, pencil, ruler, calculator (mainly used mine in years 9-11, 2 highlighters. They might be strict on what you need to bring for equipment at first but after your first term teachers get less bothered about jewellery, skirts, equipment ect.
as someone who finished year 11 ive got to say you don't really need anything. atleast in the school i went to they gave us stationary at the start of the year and you could always ask your teacher if you didnt have a pen. year 7 and 8 were great but thats only because we were in lockdown, otherwise ive got to say i would be sad knowing i had 5 years left, but thats probably just hindsight talking

Im just a year above Holly but I have followed you guys since you started your videos you always give me a laugh. When I started secondary my mum and dad had the same complaint but in year seven nothing had to be bought again and we haven't bought anything for year eight because they do last. Also i absilutely love every single one of your vids

I hope holly enjoys secondary, the jump from primary to secondary is such an emotional time. when i went, i had such a hard time and was having panic attacks but it’s different for everyone and now i’m excited to go into next year ❤

I was in yr 7 last year and although I go to a grammar ( I don’t think she does) I have some tips : 1:don’t worry about popularity,2: do not and I repeat be disrespectful to teachers as a TikTok account was made about my school and we were told of it a full yr assembly , 3: have fun because secondary school isn’t a big part of your life, 4: make sure you do all your homework and do studying for tests even if it’s just a bit, 5: finally don’t be worried because everyone is the same. Also I had the same pencil case in yr 5 as Olivia lol. Xoxo

I will say it is usually better for high schoolers to get a Casio calculator as they last the longest and teachers understand how to use them easier
