I was raised in Mexico City and remember when Alejandro was a popular radio host at WFM, 96.9, a hip station that played rock hits (Depeche Mode, etc), in the late 80s/early 90s. He was a storyteller even then and would come up with these whimsical radio plays full of sound effects. A popular one that comes to mind is El Pavo Asesino (The Killer Turkey), aired one holiday season. It was basically a hilarious slasher Christmas story about a pissed off turkey killing people left and right - and it proved so popular that it had sequels every year at Christmas. Stories aside, he was also beloved as an engaging personality, but I would've never imagined he might become one of the world's foremost film directors, especially in largely dramatic fare.

Is there a rule that says you can’t be on the round table twice? James Cameron and Steven Spielberg should both be on!

(Inside Scoop) numerous attempts were made to James Cameron to be at the table but he eventually refused due to having Covid

White Noise isn't going to be nominated for anything. Released too late in the year.

They should do a part 2 of directors roundtable with Cameron, Spielberg, Del Toro, Daniel, Mcdonagh & Aronofsky. This was disappointing.

I admire all of them but I wouldn’t be surprised if all of these directors ended up snubbed when the nominations come out. I remember the 2015 or 2016 version came out and everyone was shut out
