What a process. Hundreds (maybe thousands) of notes on the pages, the eyes read them, brain processes it all. Hands, fingers and feet reproduce it.

What a brilliant organ: the beauty of church sound combined with a more direct / immedeate sound production.
Especially the base tones sound that way, as the beautiful sound comes directly from the instrument, not needing to build up slowly in a large building.
It is the first electronic instrument that sounds better than the original!
This "electronic instrument" actually samples real organs, many of them historic instruments by Arp Schnitger, et al., which is why it sounds so great. The software is called Hauptwerk.
All i could say after hearing this work I dont know is Wow , You inspired me to get back to the organ and slowly I make my way and there is no doubt that Hauptwerk and Content is the way to go .I love the pedal registration and freshness of the piece so professionally played ...Thank you Gert ...
Lovely, lively rendition. Belier's Toccata has become part of the standard organ repertoire. I think it's your fourth or fifth YT upload, and you've obviously played it many more times in recital - like putting on a comfortable pair of slippers really. Also nice to hear the organ again in St Martin's Church at Dudelange, Luxembourg, where you cut your Premiere CD.

.. I have been following your interpretations for some time and I find that it really plays very well. It is obviously not just a question of technique, but of heart and passion that you put into it. Another element in your favor is to be young, which gives the right charge to engage in any initiative. I hope as soon as I can listen to your live concert here in Italy. Moreover, even here from youtube, which is not bad, I hope to listen to some songs by Italian authors like Vivaldi. I recently discovered that one of your English colleagues, Jonhatan Scott, performs wonderful interpretations of the 4 seasons for organ, if you listen to them too you will see that they leave you breathless .... just like you do. Is that on porpouse to you playing at 1:57 that 16ths downwards not in upwards? ( and whole this kind os phrases) If yes, why? So in the right hand: a"-a'-g'#-a'-b'-a'-g'#-a' instead of the original score? Because in this way it sounds a little 'cripple' and loose its tension, energy, power. By the way it's a good interpretation.

De Toccata kende ik niet maar gaaf gespeeld!
Hoi PA kijk hier eens, deze man heeft zijn eigen hauptwerk orgel samengesteld met een oude Casavant speeltafel, erg realistisch th-cam.com/video/gy5ijy-imWg/w-d-xo.html en wat je zegt is erg goed voor digitaal en dan te bedenken dat Hauptwerk al een redelijk "oud" computerprogramma is :-)

Yes it is a great piece to play too. Recommend it as a great piece for organ students which sounds more difficult than it is with plenty of repeats and recurring patterns. The pedal part is not difficult. The speed here was just right capturing the beauty of the piece. Too many organists crash through it and it becomes a muddy jumble. Also pianists it can be transcribed as a good piano piece as well
When do we get to see and hear Jan De Rooij?

If I'm correct, Jan lives in Switzerland for several years already. He went there with his girlfriend. So no argument between Gert and Jan

I love this performance! I did notice however, during the “synthetic A-Minor” section of the piece when you are playing 16th notes in the right hand (measure 56-63 in my score) that you never hit the c natural. I don’t know if you use a different arrangement or if you learned this piece differently, but I think it adds a nice variation when you play that section like you do.

While the composition is a bit boring, it is very well played, congratulations Gert - what a relaxed technique! For my ear the upper manual does not speak as clearly as the main one. In a way there is an evened out delay (Hauptwerk sample?) which gives it a little unreal sound impression. Having said all that, i am listening from a smartphone, which might contribute to it.

Why have you made some changes? I can see from your score that you are not playing whats written occasionally.
