Since it is a Katana the weapon already has a fast moveset with innate bleed. The custom weapon art perfectly synergizes in that it complements range and poise damage. So Moonveil kinda does it all: a fast weapon that have good range and bleeds and poise breaks well. The weapon art looks telegraphed but if you fight against it during PVP with someone who mixes up the moveset, it is VERY difficult to consistently roll it. More legendary than legendary weapons, for both PVP and PVE.
The amount of blind hate RoB and Moonvail get is so funny to me. Just let people play how they like

Id say this is the most OP of them all… especially as it kinda forced u to run a staff in offhand and its so easy to combine it with spells without changing weapons etc.

Elden Ring was my first FromSoft game and I used Bloodhound's Fang until I got Rivers of Blood which is what I used to beat the game. I didn't find out until later that doing that would get me entered into the "Basic B*tch" draft lottery. I see a lot of experts walking around malenia almost completing an oval before rolling when faced with point-blank range waterfowl. I myself find it has more chance of success to just walk back 5oclockish to 7oclock ish then forward and roll 2oclock ish as malenia leans in for the blitz attack. Of course i probably dont have as much success rate as you, but i wonder is there really an advantage to doing a full circle around her? Sometimes i do not even have time to go 5 oclock ish because i am still in animation when she jumps up or i lack the sobriety to react right away. Sprinting seems unfeasible because i might accidentally roll prematurely since sprint and roll has the same button.
Also, are you med rolling in that malenia fight?
Furthermore, i hate dodging shadow clones attack at point blank range even more than waterfowl. The best i can come up with is dodge right because first clone dashes left, then dodge right two times even though third clone dashes right, then left for fourth clone to be as close as possible to the tarrying first clone who dashes immediately after you roll the fourth. If you are lucky the fifth dash by the first clone and the sixth by the fourth would miss by the time you dodge the fourth dash by the fourth. Then just wait to dodge malenia’s own dash. But even this is not inpeccable as sometimes i got hit. Like what position do you actually need to be to not get hit by thefifth dash? Do you strafe the fourth so you can roll the fifth instead?
If the first clone dashes straight 6oclock, i usually dodge right all the time encircling malenia but this has less success rate.
Of course i only want to know because unlocking the answer is more reliable than dodging the first four dashes backwards, which id unfeasible when a wall is behind you. So imagine rolling back is not an option

I use greatsword and colossal swords and swing them around like a caveman on crack until something dies

If you can get past the really short range, Star Fists (either Heavy affinity with a Pure Strength build buffed with Bloodflame Blade or Occult affinity with an Arcane build). With talismans and Physick to buff charged heavy attacks, successive hits and Lord of Blood's Exultation, you will annihilate bosses.
What journey are you on?
Did he play with Heavy equip load? Noticed the way the Tarnished was moving
He has an endurance of 20 and blaid's armor set, though obviously modified, it should have been manageable. I think its just whatever mods he has for the clothing is messing with the animation.
