I really think sports broadcasters talk negatively on Brock Purdy because him getting drafted last and doing this well makes all of the scouts and GM’s that they’re friends with look bad.
Isn’t it crazy how the so called experts don’t want to admit they were wrong?? Nobody knew Purdy would be this good….just give the young his due, he’s earned it!! So glad our team took him!

Almost every great team in history will have some special teams psychos or just have some insane player Xs (D hall) . We watched Devin Hester and a good defense bring the damn bears to a Super Bowl and bro returns the opening kick off to the crib. Legendary stuff. Belichek talked about recently how special teams big plays and touchdowns almost guarantees wins in the NFL.
They do, or ones that dont drop the ball and allow big plays to happen.

It seems ppl on here don’t get it so I’ll help u out. BP is not one of the best QBs just cause he beat the Seahawks yesterday. He’s one of the best cause he’s literally been at or near the top in pretty much every efficiency stat since he entered the league, some of it franchise and record setting numbers. And don’t give me the smooth brained, bs “he’s got the avengers” narrative. Going thru reads, scrambling within and out of the pocket, and tight window throws he’s as good as ANYBODY in the league.
They obviously don’t watch the games and it shows 🤣🤣

If Purdy was elite, he would take over games especially in the red zone and clearly hasn't. His numbers look good because the offense is loaded with talent, einstein.

Had Shanahan not handcuffed Purdy from running in the Super Bowl, Niners would have won it. Brock had so many opportunities to run in the Super Bowl but didn't. I think he was told to stay in the pocket. It's a real shame because last Super Bowl was their best chance to win. I don't see them getting another opportunity this season.

What are you talking about? In the second half they were up and Kyle went two straight series pass heavy and couldn't convert a first down you dumb dumb. Bosa could have won the game in overtime but choked. This league is about players first not coaches but the idiots think they know...
CMC makes up Shanahan’s entire red zone scheme. If they turn those FG’s into TD’s it’s a blowout. Last week they couldn’t even kick the FG’s so they were fkd
Which sucks because if Shanahan is supposed to be such an offensive guru he should have plays created with and without CMC
I love the advanced stats of course because Brock Purdy has always dominated those, but he honestly does pretty well in most of the traditional stats too. That being said, what is more impressive is his tape. People who watch him play every down see him make great plays and great throws pretty routinely, and when you actually look at tape, it gets even more impressive how much anticipation he throws with and the tight windows down the field he is hitting on a consistent basis.
If there is any knock on him this year, it's been that he's almost too aggressive down the field and he's going for more big plays, but in the Seattle game, that was pretty vintage stuff with a great QB rating, good completion percentage, and taking exactly what the defense gives him.
I agree this game he actually took the check downs instead of going for the big throws. I love his aggressiveness but there needs to be balance. I also love that shanny is empowering him to make those decisions because with Jimmy he was quite safe. Also I don’t think Jimmy makes those throws haha.

Purdy is definitely getting paid next offseason. If not, that would be a huge slap in the face by the Niners.
Teams have surges and this is an example. They have tape now on Purdy so they plan for it. Thanks to Gino also. He throws a Dak pass to the defense very well. Very catchable with no back foot planted.
Our biggest issue is not having the best offensive player In the league from last year to score touchdowns instead of field goals. Choking is also a factor

Don't care what the critics say. Brock is legit. Is he one of the best QBs in the NFL? In my opinion??? ABSOF**KINGLUTELY! He is one of the most dynamic...one of the most consistent...one of the most well-rounded QBs in the league. EASILY top 5, and you go by a lot of the stats....👀

IMHO Purdy is just getting better.
Joe Montana said he figured out that his job as QB was really just to get the ball in the hands of the right player on each play. Brock Purdy does that as well as any QB playing the game today. He reads defenses well and so knows who is likely to be open, throws the ball to the right spot with great accuracy, keeps plays alive to give his guys the chance to get free, and runs it himself if on a given play he is the guy that can make the play. Most mediocre QBs have two basic flaws when it comes down to it. They don't have the ability to read defenses, either at the line of scrimmage or as the play is developing, and so can't find the right player to get the ball to. Their second problem is they try to do too much, and in doing so take unnecessary risks that result in turnovers.
Niners need to beat the chiefs next week and then I'll begin thinking we can go back to the SB. They MUST get past Reid, Patrick, and Spags and that's a massive test.
the chiefs and niners have looked bad at the start of the season multiple seasons in a row now. I'm not worried about either team figuring it out by playoffs.

Nah, they adjusted some things on offense, but special teams still blows (aside from that recovered punt that wasn't counted) and defense gave up a lot of points in the second half.
Everyone forgets that Elijah Mitchell is RB 2 on the 49ers. Jordan Mason is RB 3. They are down to RB 4 & 5.

It's hard to say the Niners have one major problem. We can't get in the end zone consistently in red zone. Special teams is a blunder almost every game. Miss tackles and letting by big plays against us are big problems as well.

Purdy has been really good since he has been in SF. But he did have a game last season, on Christmas, where he threw 4 picks against the Ravens. Ravens had 5 picks that night
Every GREAT qb has had at least one game where they’ve thrown multiple interceptions.
Off the top of my head P. Manning I believe had a 5 interception game.
Go look back at that game, not all 4 of those picks were his fault

Honestly even if they had won last year they still would have said it was only because of Shanahan and the rest of the team. I think the guy on the show was right. The only way he will get credit is if he goes to another team in a few years down the road and also plays good which as a 49ers fan I don't want to see. I am more than happy with our QB!

Seahawks should have won that game . We gave it away with the two interceptions. The return fumble and DK flat out dropping the ball 3 times. The easy turnovers won the game for 49ers. Oh also DK fumbling on first drive when we were about to score. There were at lest 4 turnovers and we still kept it very close!

BP doesn't get full credit because of the scheme and the stars. They seem to forget that Kyle Shanahan schemes to the skill of his quarterback or at least his perception of it. He also adapts and changes to put his position players in favorable matches. The common factor to all is the guy in the pocket making the decisions. Why didn't Garoppolo have these stats? (Hoyer, Bethard, Mullins, Lance). Think about this, Darnold did a stint with the 49ers and is now resuscitating his career at the Vikings. Give credit to Brian Griese and Shanahan for elevating these guys to each hit their ceiling.
Seahawks couldn’t get a sack if they tried Purdy got away every time. Hopefully the new coach figures it out. I’ve got to say I’m enjoying seeing the new play calling with our new OC. Wish we’d use Walker more we need another bigger running back or full back that can run catch.

Making Seattle use their time outs. A score was probably going to happen as well, so by going down where he did, he made them burn timeouts AND they still got the TD.
Last night was more Geno not playing well than the team.
49ers should be 6-0 right now if their special teams play was not their Achilles heel. Against the Vikings, blocked punt. Against the Rams, long punt return to set up the winning field goal. Against the Cardinals, no kicker in the second half after the kicker gets injured tackling kick off returner for the Cardinals. Against Seattle, 97 yard kick off return and then on another kick off, the replacement kicker gets injured making a tackle.
Special teams can inspire a team and turn around the momentum. You can easily see how the 97 yard kick off return inspired the Seahawks down by 20 early in the second half. Fix the 49ers special teams and they are championship contenders. Don't fix it, and it will cost them, big time.

The easy part of their schedule is over and they've got a gauntlet of a schedule in front of them. It will absolutely be a major accomplishment for them just to make the playoffs. Then, if they repeat the way they won their playoff games last year, it seems like an impossible feat for them to even get to the Superbowl. They will have to count on a repeat of the good luck they had last year just to win their playoff games. I don't see them even winning their division, not with the games they have coming up. They only have two easy games. 😮😮😮
