Most of the towns on the coast between Venice and Trieste were built only in the twentieth century. And Caorle is the exception, with a beautiful ancient center. The town of 11,200 inhabitants has become a popular tourist destination. It is located between the mouths of the rivers Livenza and Lemene to the Adriatic Sea. In the surroundings, there are extensive, reed-covered lagoons with original fishing structures, called Casone.
The heart of Caorle is the historic center with its colorful Venetian houses. On Piazza Vescovado is the Cathedral of Santo Stefano Protomartire 1. It was completed in 1038, in the Romanesque style. Inside we find works of art and important Roman finds in the apse of the dome. Directly in front of it stands a 48-meter-high bell tower, also from the 11th century, with Romanesque and Byzantine elements. It is similar to the towers in the city of Ravenna. The tower is accessible in the evening. Until the middle of the 19th century, the dome and the tower were connected by a semi-circular apse, which served as a baptistery.
In the old town we can find many restaurants, cafes, bars and shops. The imaginary high street is Rio Terrà delle Botteghe.
In the eastern direction, by the coast, we find the church Santuario della Madonna dell'Angelo 2. It was founded in the 9th century, its present form comes from the reconstruction in 1751. Inside you can see the rich artistic decoration. The bell tower in the Romanesque style dates from the 13th century, since 1905 it has served as a lighthouse.
Ponente and Levante beaches Ponente refers to the beach in the western direction from the old town, along the Livenza river, with a length of 1.8 km. Levante is the beach to the east of the historic center, from the Santuario della Madonna dell'Angelo to the Lemene River and Porto di Falconera. Its length is 2.7 km. Both beaches are sandy, with a width of 80 to 300 meters. The entrance to the sea is gradual, on the Ponente side there are floating platforms in the sea.
The urban district of Porto Santa Margherita can be found on the left bank of the Livenza river. From the 5th to the 13th century, this place used to be a port. Today's form was created in the 60s - 70s of the 20th century. It mainly offers apartment houses and a large tourist port. There is a regular ferry service to Caorle. tv zvolda Video link

Většina měst na pobřeží mezi Benátkami a Terstem byla vybudována až ve dvacátém století. A právě Caorle je tou výjimkou, s krásným starobylým centrem. Město s 11 200 obyvateli se stalo oblíbenou turistickou destinací. Nachází se mezi ústími řek Livenza a Lemene do Jaderského moře. V okolí se rozprostírají rozsáhlé, rákosem porostlé laguny s původními rybářskými stavbami, zvanými Casone.
Srdcem města Caorle je historické centrum s barevnými benátskými domy. Na náměstí Piazza Vescovado se nachází Dóm Santo Stefano Protomartire 1. Dokončen byl v roce 1038, v románském slohu. Uvnitř najdeme umělecká díla a významné římské nálezy v apsidě dómu. Přímo před ním stojí 48 metrů vysoká zvonice, taktéž z 11. století, s románskými a byzantskými prvky. Je podobná věžím ve městě Ravenna. Věž je přístupná ve večerních hodinách. Až do poloviny 19. století byly dóm a věž propojeny půkruhovou apsidou, která sloužila jako křtitelnice.
Ve starém městě najdeme množství restaurací, kaváren, barů a obchůdků. Pomyslnou hlavní ulicí je Rio Terrà delle Botteghe.
Východním směrem, při pobřeží najdeme kostelík Santuario della Madonna dell'Angelo 2. Byl založen v 9. století, dnešní podoba pochází z přestavby v roce 1751. Uvnitř si můžete prohlédnout bohatou uměleckou výzdobu. Zvonice v románském stylu pochází ze 13. století, od roku 1905 slouží jako maják.
Pláže Ponente a Levante ,jako Ponente se označuje pláž západním směrem od starého města, po řeku Livenza, o délce 1,8 km. Levante je pláž na východ od historického centra, od Santuario della Madonna dell'Angelo po řeku Lemene a Porto di Falconera. Délku má 2,7 km. Obě pláže jsou písčité, s šířkou 80 až 300 metrů. Vstup do moře je pozvolný, na straně Ponente jsou v moři plovoucí plošiny.
Městská část Porto Santa Margherita najdeme na levém břehu řeky Livenza. Od 5. do 13. století na tomto místě býval přístav. Dnešní podoba vznikala v 60. - 70. letech 20. století. Nabízí především apartmánové domy a velký turistický přístav. Do Caorle pravidelně jezdí trajekt.
