Definitely use the Aura MI software for mod matrix as the manual process on the hardware is very painful! I do fine without the plugin software for other functions. I only use the software when recording to DAW or if I need to use the mod matrix, load patches or configure the sequencer for the arp.
Yeah, and of course for Patch Librarian stuff, it's indispensable......when I had a Ti Desktop, I used to just do most of my programming from the front panel, but now that I'm using a Snow, I rely on the software for all my in depth programming. . . . . .
I'm having a problem that perhaps you could help me with.....I have a backup of the sounds on my Virus Ti desktop (which I've now sold), but I can't upload any of those patches into the Virus Snow - some strange issue, even though they have an almost identical synth engine......I need to get someone to take my Virus back up (.vti file) and then create .mid patch banks for me. I only need the first 4 RAM banks. Interested in helping me out? I can send you - not only my back up file, but over a hundred different patch banks from various sourced, for the Virus.
Is there a way to use the step sequencer and the arp on the virus ti2 without the computer software and if so, how would I set this up? Got a 3k synth, it should be possible!
The arp is easy to configure on the hardware, but as per the sequencer, I'd suggest just going on the Access Virus Users Forum.....probably the most complete source for such info (I never use the Sequencer in the Ti myself, so I have no personal insights.....)
@@willswitchcraft thanks I can set the algorithm for the arp on the Virus but to actually tweak the sequencer, I had to use the TI2 plugin or Aura MI software on new mac. There is no way to change many of those settings via the Virus TI2 hardware menu screens that I could find in the manuals or forums.
I haven't really used the arpeggiator much on my Virus, so I'm not going to be much help here. I'm surprised that you couldn't find answers on the Virus Forum - seems like there's a pretty solid group of users there, but perhaps, now that the company isn't really moving forward, the interest and support are waning.......
The only thing holding me back from getting a virus is the programming tools are PC only. Does anyone know if a Mac version of any editor exists? Open source or commercial?
I did a whole video on that.......check my Virus playlist........you can use the Virus Control on a Mac, but only if you have one running an older OS (I keep one for that purpose) but the Mystery Islands Music Virus HR software (which I mention in this video, perhaps you skipped past it), is awesome and kept up to date with every OS update......
