      Sorry to hear she was scammed of 50 K $$ Money spends quick. That amount of money, I could live comfort for 2 years.
      Now it might not be a lot of money for people who like to live like the Jones .
      Getting scammed can happen to anybody. Old, young, hefty, skinny, ugly, average, handsome or pretty.
      I'm assuming she's in her 60s. You figured she'd be a little more wise.
      A guy that says he owns a oilfield company and asking to borrowing money from a person he met on line. MAJOR RED FLAG !!! As I'm sure every oilfield owner has a few banks , that they deal with. Especially if they just got started, they deal with small business loans.
      As soon as he asked for money. She should have, blocked and deleted him.
      I really hope she gets her money back or at least some of it.
      Becareful, stay safe, and God bless 🙏

Teaching people how to use google would be more efficient and helpful and totally free to do. You can make your money via ads on the website and ads on these videos. Or maybe even start a patreon. Every single woman in these catfish stories says the same thing: “He spoke to me in a way no other man ever has. He writes me poems, love letters, and gushy messages. My husband never talked like that.” 😳 That’s because most men don’t talk like that in real life! 🤦‍♀️ It doesn’t mean they don’t care, it’s just that most men don’t go around spouting cheesy lines from the inside of a Hallmark card 🙄. Exactly this. Hollywood movies tend to give people completely unrealistic expectations of what a romantic relationship should be like. People need to realise that romantic movies are a fantasy. It's absurd, unrealistic and unreasonable to expect real-life people to behave like a character from a dime store romance novel 24/7. If somebody online is communicating with you in such a manner, then that ought to be a pretty major red flag (as should requests for money, obviously).

    She needs to find a new therapist. That was terrible advice. She is a prime target for scammers. And if her therapist is going to give people that kind of advice it needs to be followed up with "Watch out for scammers, here are some videos to tell you the warning signs." People who've been out of the dating game for a while don't necessarily know about catfish and scammers. I only learned about all this because I was thinking about joining and app and Googled dating stories to get an idea which apps were more successful and came across all these scammer stories.

      @irene_elizabeth ปีที่แล้ว +20

      I don’t think the therapist should have advised that at all. It is not a therapist’s job to advise, but rather to guide and explore with the client. The right thing for the therapist to have said (asked) was “what does moving forward look like for you? Have you thought about some avenues or activities you might like to explore as ways of broadening your horizons and meeting new people?” If joining a dating site ended up being one of them, at least it would have been her idea. And if she mentioned it to the therapist, without discrediting it, s/he could have warned her what to watch out for.

    This lady is not stupid so she should be more careful. Anytime anyone calls you QWEEN, he’s Nigerian. Any time he has emergencies and needs money he’s a scammer. She is going on looks in the men she talks to. A lady I worked with met a man and he was younger and very handsome, a 9. She was short, overweight, and about a 5 in looks. When she told me about him, I wondered to myself what he was doing with her, but said nothing. A couple of weeks later I asked how her love affair was going. She just shrugged and said oh he’s gone. Much later she told me he called her from jail to come bail him out that he was arrested by mistake. She had already “loaned” him money until he got paid. After checking on him, he had no job, was in and out of jail and lived off women by getting “loans”. Best to check them out first and when the age is much younger than you and he’s a 10 and you’re a 4, beware!

    Ann, if you want to know if James is real consider this. He told you that you are the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. I'm certainly not saying you're ugly but do you think you are the most beautiful woman in the world? Or even the most beautiful woman James has ever seen? Sorry, but if a man told me that I would immediately kick him to the curb because that just is not true about me. Do you think it's true about you? If not, why would he tell you that? Oh, I forgot. He asked you for money. Do you suppose THAT might be the reason he said that you were the most beautiful woman he had ever seen? Why do you care if he's real? If he's real, it just means the picture he gave you is really him and the name he told you is really his name but he still is the loser who begged a stranger on line to send him some money. Is that REALLY the type of man you want to be connected to?
