Skiing Okemo, VT - Top to Bottom via Double Diamond Glades

- We take you top to bottom at Okemo Vermont via the run Double Diamond, which as the name suggests, is a double black diamond run through the trees. We then link up to some blues, more glades and then an easy green to finish. This gives us about a 10 min ski run, which is a reasonable time for skiing on the East Coast, where vertical drops tend to be shorter than in the west.
I remember sledding down Okemo when I was 8 years old with my father. Fun times!
I love Ludlow, VT! Such a cute town! One of my family's favorite vacation spots!
Encouraging to see that even someone better in the trees than me can struggle at times.
When you try to make turns with the tails of your skis, you will always have problems. If you use the tips of your skis, just like you use the front tires of your car and just let the tails follow, you will hardly ever have problems. Read my comments at my video for the answers on how to do it.

With 54 years of teaching experience, I have a tip that will transform your skiing. You have the ability to balance, but you aren't putting it to good use by allowing your skis to do the turns for you.
Your problem is one that 99% of skiers have. Pretty much every person I saw in this video has it.
1:05 You spend most of your time on the tails of your inside ski because you force them to change direction with heel thrusting. They can't turn as designed, they just go right and left and then get stuck on the outside edge of your inside ski and jet out from under you which puts you out of balance. Here again. 2:28
6:30 This is called "Tipping" without any thought to what foot you should be balancing on, so you end up on your inside ski which prevents your skis from turning, only changing direction.

Was there 3 days ago. Ended up taking a fall which broke my arm the first run, fell off the lift and snowboarded the rest of the day. Would go back any time tho!

Are you using a GoPro? If so what settings are you using. This video looks crazy good.
Gopro 7, 2.7k resolution, 60 fps, wide angle, regular color settings, with the gopro karma grip (its a gimbal stabilizer you hold in hand)

@@mauricepowers8079 I skied Okemo a ton when I was younger and at most resorts Double Diamond is a hard black/easy double in the east and a hard blue/easy black out west. Outrage, Supernova, Forrest Bump and Big Bang (If it’s even open) are significantly harder however (especially Outrage and Supernova)
It isn't very steep. FATMAP says 25 degrees max.
