Ok, the way you are able to grunge up ephemera when it is glossy is that you get some modpodge and white tissue paper. Glue the tissue paper over your glossy picture. Let wringle some too so it looks older. Once it dries, then you can ink the edges. Works like a charm.
Hi Mary. That’s so funny you mention that technique because I just made a video sharing that about 2 weeks ago. Craft With Me - Let’s Make Glossy Ephemera Grungy Using Napkins th-cam.com/video/st868Iy98VE/w-d-xo.html Thanks!! I appreciate you sharing just the same. ☺️

I cant decide which one i like more 🤔. They're all super cool & btw i dig the unedited videos, i appreciate the in the moment genuineness. Perfection is definitely overrated 💚 143.
Very, very friggen cool Miss Maggie, and certainly no need for apologies... heheheh , personally, I am a retired truck driver... but you are not doing anything wrong... I absolutely love these !! whats really wild is i have every single thing to make these, exactly as you show them... I havent mastered it all yet... lol... so much of my supplies sit unused, brand new.. hardly touched.. but these, this project, is enough to really get me moving in the right direction... Thank you Maggie... You are a gem. ♥🧡🧡
A retired truck driver? That is so cool!! I'm glad this project inspired you to use up your stash. Thanks so much for your kind words and for watching!
I had to laugh. Today I pulled out a bunch of Tim Holtz stuff and then put it right back on the shelf. I bought all of this stuff on clearance about a year ago, and I still haven't used it. I honestly didn't know what to do with it, but hey..I got a great price! ;) heh heh. Thanks for the great idea, super cute. I don't have a template but I think I can figure it out. Thanks!
Fabulous video loving the folders, why not make a template out of acetate of your window so you can draw around the outside and see whereabouts on the photo you want to use. Love your quiet nature very easy to listen to you, hugs julie
Hi Julie!Thank you so much for the tip. That’s a great idea. I’m still learning so any tips and tricks are greatly appreciated. Thanks for the kind words!
Obsessed with Tim Holtz? I’m so obsessed with my TH stuff that I hoard it! I’m am not even kidding! I use the cutting dies and stamps and inks but ANYTHING that is possible to use up I seriously don’t even use! I can’t help myself! I have a problem! I need to find a Tim Holtz anonymous counseling group!🤓
Hi Barbara! Your TO DO LIST is sounds like fun. I have one too for my crafty videos. I love referring back to get ideas when I’m in a slump. Thanks for watching!
Maggie these are so fun! I love them and can’t wait to try them out! It’s hard picking a favorite but I’d say Original. I love watching (and hearing) your thought process as you’re doing your embellishing…and yes I answer to the tv when you ask for opinions 😊.
Hi Karen! You’re so sweet! Thanks for your kind words. I’m so happy you enjoy the process. It always takes me a minute to decide. I love that you answer when I ask, that is so great!! ☺️ Thanks so much for watching 🤍
Those are really cute!!! To rough up the edges of the glossy file folders is use a nail file. File just enough to rough it up and the the ink should stay on. I have those glossy folders. I have tired it, but I think it should work.
Love these!!! I love how your ephemera is so sorted and easy to find too. That’s huge when you’re making multiples. I love to use up ephemera too. Another project for me. Thanks!!!!!!
Hi Janartable! Thanks…I feel like if I can see what I have I’m able to use it more often. So I like to sort and store my supplies in acrylic drawers on my desk. I appreciate you watching
Hi. It's 2am and I just fell asleep while watching this video, but I am so eager to see what you're doing so I just made myself a cup of tea and I'm starting the video from the beginning. Your videos are addictive!!😂 Love everything you do! ❤️😘💕
I like all of them, but I think the Mercantile one is my fave. I like the pops of red! I really love the round postal tags you made. I'm going to have to do that.
You mentioned getting a black mat...if you work with a lot of black cardstock it's really difficult on the black mat..l went back to green...love your work
Hi Josie, thanks for the tip. Luckily, I don’t work a lot with black. I have already purchased the black mat and am really enjoying the look of it. Thanks for watching
You’re right, perfection is over-rated. Those turned out great! I love that you thought to add the eyelets! Now, I have to get those key tags from DT! I think “original” is my fave, but it’s a tough call.
Hi Rhonda! The grungier the better right?! Lol Someone said they’ve seen the key tags at DT but I’ve never found them. I get mine from Walmart. Thanks for always watching Rhonda!
This was a GREAT video been watching you make your homemade ephemera, love it. I missed where you got the mini file folders. Also, a tip for the string make it longer and put a spot of glue on each end and roll between your fingers when dry slip it thru your holes then snip off the glued ends.
Hi Susan! Thanks! I’m so glad you enjoyed the video. The Tim Holtz mini file folders are from either Hobby Lobby or JoAnn. That glue trick is so great!! Definitely going to try that next time. Thanks for watching!
They are all great, but my favorite would be the friendship one because I like the look of the front panel being shorter than the back panel. It shows more of the paper color. Where did you get the large dauber?
Hi Tommi! I’m not sure how that would since the gloss is kind of a seal on the paper. Someone suggested maybe using gesso or white paint over it to change the texture of the paper. Just another idea. Thanks for watching!
These are amazing! I just found your channel and been watching all your videos and I absolutely love your style. I love Tim Holtz and have hoarded tons of stuff. You have inspired me to just use it! I have the dates from the past stamps, but I’m desperately looking for that signature stamp set. I can’t find it anywhere. TFS, Leslie
Hi Leslie! Thank you so much for watching my videos. I’m so happy you are enjoying my channel and have inspired you to utilize the stash we have. About the signature stamp. You might be able to find it on Ebay. I looked it up and found a seller there. I hope that helps.

Use fine sandpaper on glossy papers to give it some “tooth”. An emery board works on smaller pieces.
Hi Christine! Thanks so much for the tip. That was a great idea. Thanks for watching
They are fabulous. I want to make some myself now haha. 👏🇬🇧😘
Hi Lynda! Thank you so much! I’m so happy you like them. They were so much fun to make. You should definitely try it. Thanks for watching

Hi there! What a fun project! Hey, just use permanent ink with a distressing tool to grunge up your edges and then won't rub off.
Hi Karen, thanks for the tip. I’ll have to try that next time. Thanks for watching
😃always fun to watch you and your thought process
Aw Thanks Suzy and thanks for watching!

I like all of them, but I think the Mercantile one is my fave. I like the pops of red! I really love the round postal tags you made. I'm going to have to do that.
Hi Lori! I like the pop of color on that one too. The round tags are a favorite of mine to add to dangle on my projects. Thanks so much for watching
I really like these a lot. Wonderful ephemera. Will be making some of these for sure. Thank you for sharing and inspiring ❤

Hi again! I got a pack of those daubers at Hobby Lobby. I don’t remember the cost but that’s where I found those. Thanks again for watching
You might be able to coffee or tea dye the shiny paper to grunge them up some. I’ve never dyed shiny paper so I’m not sure. 🥰
Hi Tommi! I’m not sure how that would since the gloss is kind of a seal on the paper. Someone suggested maybe using gesso or white paint over it to change the texture of the paper. Just another idea. Thanks for watching!
@@SunsetCrafts yeah that could work since it would give it some tooth to take the ink! I always forget about gesso and I use it. 😂
I liked them all. Such a nice mix of several mediums. I am glad I found your channel and what great project to come in on. Thank you!!!
