    Just adding a comment to help you with the Google algorithm "point system" to help keep you motivated in creating more excellent vid's. And BTW, subscribed, too. Appreciate your clear concise examples and "chilled" manor. Cheer back to you!

    Thanks for showing that. We spend a lot of time in our garden so I do not want to keep enabling and disabling the sensor for motion notifications as no doubt we will forget and get too many alerts 😢. What I would like is a specific sensor, motion or contact sensor on our gate that would then trigger an alert but with a picture. Any thoughts on how this could be set up please? Preferably node red rather than an automation if possible? Cheers

      You should be able to set it up exactly like in the video above however for the trigger you can use a contact/reed sensor that is connected to the gate for instance .
      I have not been working in node red for some time now will need to take a look at it again some time.

    I am having some issues
    I can get the image when i search the snapshot url in a browser but i cant get telegram to send that image.
    I have tried to use some random image on the web and send that through the bot and that works.
    Not sure what i am doing wrong.

      hey it is possible that the image url is behind a password causing telegram not to triger the message.
      you could take a look at this video automation useing the WWW folder for the snapshot could solve this.

      Hey Have you been able to Find a solution?
      Make sure you are using the "telegram_bot.send_photo" service and not a normal message.
      My code is showing exactly like this after saving the information
      caption: My image
      url: '10.0.0.200:8765/picture/1/preview/test.jpg'

    the snapshot url is not accessible as a link on the browser and therefore the notification does not work. how to solve?

    • @AverageAutomation
      @AverageAutomation  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      hey are you using the www folder?
      "Hosting files
      If you want to use Home Assistant to host or serve static files then create a directory called www under the configuration path (/config). The static files in www/ can be accessed by the following URL your.domain:8123/local/, for example audio.mp3 would be accessed as your.domain:8123/local/audio.mp3."
      from www.home-assistant.io/integrations/http
      This should solve the issue you are having

      @@AverageAutomation Hi, sorry but I still don't understand. My snapshot url is very different from yours (dominio.duckdns.org:8123/api/etc) and if I use this link on the browser I get “401 unauthorized”. I'm sorry but I'm just starting out.

      @@VincenzoCorallo are you using motioneye to pull in the feed from the camera? of do you already have the camera in home assistant as a normal camera?

    Hi great tutorial. I use Duck Dns so my url snapshot is xxxxxx.duckdns.org:8123 etc. For some reason, sending the photo does not work. I tried with other urls and everything is fine but with motioneye nothing to do. do you have any idea?

    • @AverageAutomation
      @AverageAutomation  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can you confirm that the address you are using in the photo URL is accessible like if you go to that spesific link on your browser does it show the actual image?

    • @VincenzoCorallo
      @VincenzoCorallo 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Average Automation Unfortunately it doesn't work, "401 unauthorized error". It is as if I am not authorized to access the url.
