Since Djokovic started breaking records, many now claim fed's style is elegant and better. How can any true sports aficionado not appreciate what Novak does with pinpoint accuracy and depth, sliding athleticism, and amazing angles like this? Truly a sight to behold.
As a coach..this is what you're teaching. No one is telling beg/interm players to do Nadal's forehand follow-through, or Federer's backhand. This is such a textbook performance.
Uhh it's not that since Djokovic started breaking records, Fed's style has always been elegant and better, poetry in motion. Novak has amazing talent obviously, and he hits extraordinary shots and unreal defense, but it's not as beautiful as Roger's game by far.
Perfect match from djoko who totally overpowered Ferrer! Ferrer's consistency is simply not enough against player of the big four who hit much harder than him and move him around the court easily without wasting energy!
@@hugofernandez3845 And you do not know much about tennis then. This was semi-final of grandslam, Ferrer was 4th in the world. Ferrer was actually playing very well, but Djokovic's performance was from another planet.
@Hugo Fernandez 😂😂😂 I watch tennis since like 2001 intensively and every year around 80 - 120 matches and for me, in my personal opinion it was one of Novak‘s greatest performances and one of the greatest of all time 🤷🏼♂️! At the end, I don‘t need you to comment on my personal opinion about this performance, especially when the quality of you is that unnecessary! That was god djokovic ..djokovic best ever throughout the total match I have ever seen ...if djokovic playes like this ...no one can beat him for sure...
Peak Djoker right here - poor Ferrer just never stood a chance on this warm Thursday night against the firepower and tactical masterclass of the now 10-time Aus Open champ
Unbelievable. I don’t think anyone else ever hit this kind of remorseless level of near perfection. Obviously others like Federer could have astonishing levels, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone just sustain this kind of almost flawless perfection through entire three sets. How the hell must have opponents like Ferrer have felt where they’re just being given nothing, and these laser like shots just keep on coming.
Roshan Sreedhar what amazes me as a diehard fed fan is when djokovic at his best can hammer his groundies with consistent depth right up to the shoe laces , his game is based on bodyblow after blodyblow , pretty exciting to watch
Compare this match vs Novak's match against Wawrinka during this same tournament. Djokovic was ultra defensive against Stan, yet here he was ripping his groundstrokes. Crazy stuff.
If you don't know why he's top 5 then you CLEARLY must not watch tennis regularly. He is top 5 because of his 'never give up' attitude and his will. You are nobody to judge his shotmaking.
Matches like this are why Ferrer is not the best player to not have a grand slam. Here are his strengths - Great return of serve - Great movement around the court - Amazing stamina His major weaknesses which held him back were - lack of precision - Underwhelming first serve He's able to win against top 10 caliber players consistently and can beat Nadal outside of clay, but when it came to Federer and Djokovic, he struggled a lot. He lacks precision against Djokovic and for whatever reason always ends up hitting the ball right to him, I suspect it's a mental thing. He can generate pretty good pace, he just doesn't place the ball all that great and I feel he plays a bit conservative against Djokovic in regards to placement.
You also need to throw in many slices. At least 25% of your backhands need to be slices just to prevent him from hitting winners all day and keep him out of the baseline rallies. Ferrer played too much of an "XBOX" game
Right, we're criticizing Ferrer when he has accomplished an incredible amount with his work ethic and determination. I believe he's one of the top 10 players never to win a grand slam.
you can see Ferrer has a habit of looking up to quickly after ball contact, your suppose to get behind the ball then pick the side you want to hit and the watch the ball go into the racket and the contact point, follow through, then look up at the ball as its crossing the net
this is not fair for murray .this match was suppose to be nadal vs djokovic and instead nadal beat ferrer in 2 hours and andy had to play over 4 hours vs federer and we saw in the finals in the 4th set he had nothing left to fight against novak I still think djokovic would have won it anyway but if rafa had played in this tournument we had 2 great sami finals and an amazing finals like the 2012 AO open.
Probably people who calls Federer Djokovic semifinal match in 2016 or Nadal Federer semifinal 2014 AO demolitions, should change their minds after watching this. Ferrer should have retired inmediately after this if he wouldnt have wanted to have nightmares
Poor Ferrer his game plan is to get his opponent in the BackHand corner, but against Nole thats not a good idea with his world class BH. And going to his ForeHand isn't a good idea either, cause Nole has dramatically improved his FH throughout the years! So with his game plan out of the window he's hopeless on the court and gets easily overpowered by the big hitters!
I would agree he is a bit passive and plays it safe, but his return of serve and footwork are awesome. Also, he behaves well on court, even when frustrated. Djokovic's antics over the years have only made me root against him. Last time I had any time for him was the US open final of 2010.
This isn't even god mode djokovic. Andy murray could easily keep up with him. It just goes to show the huge gap between the big 4 and the rest of the tour back in the day🙈
Haha, Murray lost the final of this AO against Djokovic 1:3. And 3 other AO finals against him. But that's truth that the best version of Murray is 2012/13. I love that guy, my 2nd favourite after Novak. But Novak at his best is a beast, unbeatable in slams.
