    It's awesome that your family gifts you things you actually want. It's also awesome that you have videos showing you using the gifts. Those are really nice.

    Great video, thanks. When you said, "You're going to hear search and rescue come over, it seems to happen every time I come out" my first thought was, "Mark, you need to tell your wife where you're going." Thanks for the laugh.

    I have a fair amount of the X-series stuff, my only complaint is that it seems to take on the smell of your food and drink no matter how hard you wash them.

    • @MarkYoungBushcraft
      @MarkYoungBushcraft  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, the downside of silicone. Mine is doing okay but I rarely have meals that are likely to leave smells. Still, they have taken on some smells and have discoulored a but. Thanks for commenting

    Nice cookset. I like their collapsibility. The silicone is very heat resistant and supports a large capacity. I also like the stainless pot. It has several nice features, but I would also be wary of damaging the plastic parts. And the fry pan is a winner in weight and performance.

      Couple of ways. Best I have seen is what Steve at Firebox Stove does. Can also apply a light coating of oil while on the heat, wipe it out, let it smoke, let cool, repeat. Builds up over time. Thanks for commenting

    I love many of the sea to summit products. They make a quality product. I have the covered cup snd bowl set that live in my car cuz I use them as a doggie bag so that I am not bringing home food in styrofoam containers. Since they collapse and nest they fit easily in my purse along with a nylon shopping bag that folds up tiny in my purse. So not only use them for camping and hiking but for other things. Use them when I travel and need a bowl/plate in a hotel room and to keep items in the mini fridge. I have found the bowl doesn’t do great in a microwave tho. But I don’t use the microwave much anyway.

    Good morning Mark! Have you ever had a full cup (or any of the other products) collapse on you by accident? I’m pretty sure that would, sooner or later, happen to me. Pretty darn handy for space saving though.

    • @nvalley
      @nvalley 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can't speak to others' experiences, but the sea to summit brand items are quite stiff and that seems unlikely. But, using a cheap Walmart knockoff I did collapse a cup when making pour over coffee. That works fine normally, just couldn't handle the weight of the device, coffee, and water (plus silicone is more pliable when heated).

    • @jimf1964
      @jimf1964 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nvalley good to know, thanks. We'll be doing a family camp in august, and space will be at a premium, so I may look into a couple pieces.

      I bough a dollar store version to see how they compared. The dollar store one is very poor quaility by comparison. I have never had an issue with the Sea to Summit stuff. Other than tipping it over by mistake. Thanks for commenting Jim

    I don't eat or cook with aluminum. I don't drink from aluminum cans. It is not safe. Is anodized aluminum safe to use?

      A good hard-anodized surface is the same chemical as a ruby. As long as it is undamaged by harsh chemicals or stainless scrub pads your cooked food will never be exposed to elemental aluminum.
