I would hope that Phil Wang are incorrect that everyone are self censoring and are "adjusting" their comedy routines to "hitting the line".. because that would mean that all standup are the same, all are trying to hit the same "line", and not be the same amount of acceptable "woke"..but he is probably right, and thats why atleast in Norway, all standups have the same routine. The targets of the jokes are the same (what is acceptable according to wokness at any given time), and the punchlines are the same.

there are clever ways to be anti woke and have good jokes without offending anybody. Bill Burr makes fun of woke left and woke culture and it's hilarious . but it's not offensive. I think even lefties would watch his stand up and agree with how ridiculous some woke idiology is. while Dave Chapelle does the same thing but a lot less clever and comes off as offensive and bigotry. just because everyone is doing the same thing doen''st mean every material will be the same quality. if you can't talk about woke culture or makes jokes about it in a nuanced and clever way it's not because "cancel culture" it means you're a bad comedian and need to hone your craft
