#Storycon | Balikatan 2024 executive agent Col. Mike Logico said they had always wanted to conduct military exercises beyond 12 nautical miles, but there were restrictions because of the previous administration.
This year's Balikatan is slated from April 22 to May 10.

Most poor Filipinos try our best to have a better and productive life most of us work in other countries abroad to have better salaries and some of us become successful but the problem is when we come back again in the Philippines we don't have jobs because we are getting old abroad.
Some poor Filipinos work in the Philippines until they get old for $150 to $300 per month , Sad but true .

BTW. These are NOT just training exercises and drills. Likewise, these joint military drills in land, sea, or air or in all spatial domains are also diplomatic statements minus the saliva.
Come to think of it. Since the joint maritime patrol of US, Japan, Australia and the Philippines, China stopped its water cannon attacks and ship ramming/collisions.
China only tones down its aggression when the countries it is trying to invade respond with gun fire warning shots and PLA deaths in the cases of India, Indonesia, and even Taiwan.
Take note that it is only the Philippines that gets water cannon attacks, naval blockades, AND ship ramming and collisions from China on a bi-monthly basis.
India, Indonesia, and even Taiwan do not get such treatment.

Our country boasts the world's oldest Chinatown, located in Binondo, Manila, and is home to many prominent Filipino-Chinese families. I struggle to understand the current leader's political stance, using the threat of war to advance his agenda and being influenced by US interests.
Russia's concerns about missile threats in our country suggest our support for China in case of conflict. I don't want to see war between our country and China, and this must be prevented. Our president should step down due to his alleged involvement in smuggling and his failure to redeem his family's tarnished reputation. Many citizens feel misled by his campaign for change and unity, while he continues to abuse his power and remains unproven in addressing drug abuse issues.
I am not pro-China; I am pro-peace. Historically, China has not been involved in invasions or colonization. In contrast, Spain, Britain, France, and the US have a history of global power abuse, which they continue to exercise under the guise of political influence. We must protect our rights while engaging in diplomatic discussions on these matters. It's essential not to be swayed by other countries pursuing their own interests.
Pro-US is better than being Pro-China and letting them do whatever they want in our territory. We wanted peace but China instigates war, we have been tolerable enough.. would you rather have our filipino fishermen getting harassed by chinese, let the marine ecosystems die in that area? and steal the resources there like oil which is actually good for our development as a country?
