    Go small first. Learn to race, the improvement will be much quicker, and there’s less financial risk starting with a trailer sailor that you can sail locally, dry dock, or take home. Plus you can sell it for what you paid for it, and move up to a 30 foot keelboat before you pull the trigger on your forever boat. You’ll both be much better sailors with experience maintaining much smaller, cheaper boats.

    I came across your video because I was searching for information that could be applicable for our 1972 Santana 21. We're onto the 4th generation now sailing on her. She's been well cared for so there's nothing major but we're always in the process of maintaining/restoring to keep her sailing. I'm looking for other Santana's to compare experiences as we work to keep the CAPI sailing for years to come. If you or anyone learns of other Santanas, please drop a comment or two. We're based in Montrose Harbor in Chicago.
