no background processes is a little extreme. you won't get any other notifications and your phone will basically not work for anything other than the foreground app
The setting concerning the background processes changes back automatically after restarting your phone. If it's important you have to change it every time you start your phone
Kinda figures that the solution would come from the community and not Niantic. I mean, it's not totally or perhaps even mostly the company's fault, to be fair. That said, I also wouldn't expect them to be the source of a fix, not when GO Battle League gets lower billing than Seasonal Stickers on the official website. OK, rant over. Thanks for staring, and let's hope this is the start of a new fun chapter in PvP. 🙏
I did what it's shown in the video and PVP goes smoother BUT now i have problems elsewhere. Now the app freeze and restart everytime i hit the phone menù. Also routes are broken. Every few bike steps my route pauses and I have to come back to the previous spot. Anyone else?
maybe it works for pvp a little better but the phone gets heated after some time and still lags in pvp after that, i had to let the phone chill after some battles from time to time the animations didnt looked ok in pvp if u minimize the pogo app to start other app it will eventually crash it takes so long to open the game with those settings done can't open second pogo app if i want sounds good at first but for me doesnt work, maybe some better gaming phone can handle it but mine can not (Realme GT6)
I would highly recommend understanding what you are toggling. While I doubt anyone is telling you to do malicious things to your phone (we just want a smooth PvP experience) understand you are changing prompts and making your phone behave completely differently.
When you're done with pvp, just turn off developer settings for ease. You'll just need to get used to turning of developers mode again and making sure all of the settings are back on.
Jonkus what should I do? Got Android but when I get into the thing that is available for games in graphics driver preferences there is no default mode to choose between.
He also said to select "Don't keep activities". Secondly, no background processes does the opposite of what you said. Nothing can run in the background when you're in a certain app, not unlimited background processes. Helpful video though
Any guidelines for iphone users? The lag is pretty bad for us as well. If theres no help- iphone users pretty much got nerfed here if lag is fixed for android
They need to find a way to have the game run like this right from the start. I had grown accustomed to getting denied a move every time I bring a pokemon in. Losing turns every. Single. Game. The difference is noticeable immediately. Really a shame that this isn't the standard. It runs how it's supposed to 🎉
Agreed! It’s extremely noticeable especially when the game is designed where fast moves need to register every second and just 1 single fast move can really change/flip match ups. It’s really sad how a “free to play game” makes SO much from in game purchases but they’re not willing to put in the work to improve the game. This is why I give other games their praise like Fortnite makes money but would drop so much please their fan base while fixing the bugs or taking their time to address any issues going on while apologizing while there’s niantic that have the mindset of “womp womp, cry about it and give us more money”
@freddymartinez2674 i think maybe the issue is that android isn't utilizing their processors correctly. Maybe they made the game, assuming they would be running on the specs they advertise on the system gpu
I cannot find the settings so far (phone in a different language, so I have to look a bit harder I guess haha). But looking forward to battling without lag, haven't really played last months due lag😅 😅
Wish they found this solution about a year ago. I stopped playing and have zero interest in returning. My new obssesion is TCG Pocket. Still love watching your videos tho!
Now Niantic will probably create new lags to annoying us
Niantic wouldn't be the same without lags 😂

Important to know: The "Background process limit" setting resets every time you reboot your phone!
this will only change device based lag, the servers are still awful
Any guide for iPhone? The lag is horrendous.

I get stutters seriously even with system graphics driver
Yesterday on my phone i got 0fps for 2-3 second in an imp s6 tournament battle

if u find an ios fix can u make a video on it too?
Lol ive met this guy on multiple occasions, so crazy to see him on a video
When I set my android into developer mode, I don't have a menu for graphics driver preferences. I guess my Galaxy Note9's tech is too ancient.
I’m a sad iOS user who lost three matches tonight due to one turn switch in lag.
4:05 if you have realme/oneplus phones
Using their game mode
You can track fps i have realme one

Thanks man ! Let's go !
Great video, it helped out a bunch.
i have tryed it on 3 phones and even on an A15 it is now playable :D

Also since we can search for settings we want to turn off and on I would suggest using that to quickly access them.
For ease? What ease?
@ohthattickles you're the hero we didn't know we needed 🫶🏾
What sucks is I can't have developer mode on and access apps I use for work 🙃
Hi, can't find it on my honor. I'm within developer options, but there is no graphics driver preferences
On note 9, cant find the first step, system graphic.
same here, is there any other option you get?
My phone doesn't have graphics driver preferences or anything similar to that. Note 9.

LOLOL, he was really feeling himself after finding this game changing hack and felt the need to get all plush-like.

I couldn't find the exact options on my Samsung. Help?
Nice! But when you switch to no background processes you are not able to catch with the go +
Ah then just switch that off when you go out
I tried it with just the graphics driver preference change and with the recommended changes. On my phone there was both changes worked just as well.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!
I Have android S23 but still occasionally losing a turn on swap in even with these changes. Other frame drop issues appear better though
Don't have these options on samsung fold 6
I dont like the new setting. It close the whole pokemon game every time you use a different app.
Doesn’t work, did all lags still same

This helps! Thanks!!🎉
This is automatic on iPhone 15
But I started to avoid GNL since this season, I'm enjoying PTCG right now, why bothers myself in Pokémon go
Btw this will maybe increase battery consumtion
I have a Galaxy S10lite and even with the changes, the lag exists.😢😢😢
Fixed it, thanks for sharing!
How can I fix getting one turn bring in
fixes it as well
Tried this and holy shit thank you so much, this brought my interest back in pvp@@JonkusPKMN

So you like paying 10 times more money for half the functions and no open source features?
Get an iPhone 😭
Cringe, why should someone overpay for mediocre specs? Oh right you pay for the silly apple on the back of the phone.
And in the Iphone your Game crash frequently
fyi iphone lags too i used iphone x back then and it was having frame drops and lags too but cant say for iphones after that cause havent used them
