All those ladies paved the way for today's generation. The problem was that most of them were part of labels with big name male rappers, so they were mostly in their shadows and rarely on the spotlight. Today's female rappers, and especially underground rappers, are doing things on their own. They put their music on SoundCloud, on Spotify, etc, do their own marketing, organize their own events, and so on. They're able to shine on their own and show that they're not dependent of big name rappers.
